My husband and I just left there. Actually we just left " The card shop" up the road before arriving with a flawless transaction and very respectful staff. There is a guy who works in the house of cards. Red hair and always wearing a tank top. He mishandles the cards every time he touches them. On a side note he is very rude to customers but I don't work there or care how he treats people who allow him to talk to them that way. Anyways I've been in there on three separate occasions now.
The first time I let it go. The second I spoke to Tara about it. This time me and my wife spent about an hour going through the " box of doom" for pokémon. I even sleeved all the cards and hard cases the important one knowing he was about to touch them.
He mishandles them again. If you collect you know that cards are very sensitive and will micro scratch very easily.
When I told him that I didn't want them because he was mishandling the cards again, the owner jumped up and said " I'm the owner , what's the problem"
I told him.
After watching this guy three times and how he handles cards with my own eyes the owner instead of handling his employee tells me " I disagree with you"
So they just lost a couple customers. And we spend a good bit on second hand cards.
If you want good quality service go to " the card shop" and if you choose to go here, have Tara handle your cards.
We just heard them say that they couldn't bring in enough money while we were in there.
I wonder why
Id give negative...
Read moreI had a very rude and awkward trip to this store. I thought that it would have a super friendly staff based on reviews that I read. The first thing I'm greeted with is "you gotta put a mask on man". Okay, it's a private business and I got no problem with that as a rule even though it's unnecessary and doesn't follow any guidance from anywhere. I put the mask on, but Mr. Blue Hair was done with me. Check that chip on your shoulder. Didn't even look at me after that. Not sure what I did to you dude. I said to the other guy that it looks like they are pretty much MTG only and he said yes and some Pokemon. He asked what I played and when I said Yugioh, it was like the door was shut. Neither one of them even attempted to look at me or speak. The awkwardness in the room was thick. I'm not sure if this was because they are MTG tribal fanboys or if they just didn't like the way I looked. I really had hoped this would be a place I could bring my kids back to and possibly play some Pokemon or Yugioh. I would never have employees that treated people in this way. I'm not sure what it is with card shop people, but they can be so smug and rude. They were as bad as the people that were at the Card Stop. Thanks...
Read moreSuper shady. They tried to charge me a higher price than what was quoted to me over the phone. When I got there and addressed my concerns they stated that one of their employees must have got the products mixed up with another one, but even after that they didn’t want to honor the price that they quoted me on and instead suggested meeting at a middle price.. I drove almost an hour just to be blindsided by a higher price than what I was told. Not only that, but they price gouge and justify it based on online prices. Of course the price is going to be high when you’re trying to match online scalpers.
They’re no different from scalpers, they just have a license for it. They already get the products for under MSRP and still want to price gouge.. what a joke. These are the same small local businesses that expected people to feel bad for them during covid. Not to mention none of them could name their products correctly, so it’s no wonder they got them mixed up.. if it’s not magic the gathering they’re just buying high demand products to price gouge. Stay away from this shady business. Will never...
