The Diner — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I noticed a few months ago that when I would come she would use her calculator and then add the total on the register. But she would charge me a few dollars extra. I said something about it. She did fix it, the last time I came in and ate in person she did it again and I called her out on what she was doing. I would call in my food at this point. It is literally a minute from my job so it is convenient to go there. One time I went and picked up my food and notice her putting in the wrong numbers for my food and I said that is not what your menu says, she then said okay tell me how much to put. Little did she know I would calculate my total before coming & picking it up with taxes included. She is the owner so she knows her prices. Well today my friend went and picked up our food, we always order the same thing so she knows it us and knows us by our voice. My food got brought back with “homemade ranch”. But it was not, it was disgusting and tasted old. I called and asked if they still make homemade ranch, she said yes they still make ranch homemade. I told her that my ranch tasted funny and she said honey I will figure out why and fix it. I took myself back up to the restaurant and requested the ranch because the other ranch was horrible. Not only did she do something to the ranch because I have proof in the photo. I want to inform the neighborhood surrounding the Diner of the lack of concern the establishment has for you. I live across the street and have patronized the Diner in the past. I am approaching 70 years old and shouldn't be out in extreme heat as I have breathing problems. My apartment complex had our parking area repaved and so everyone had to find alternative parking for 3 days. I parked across the street in the back parking lot of the business mall which includes the Diner. I was there one night. The lady that runs the Diner put a sticky note on my windshield telling me to not park there. Mind you, I wasn't parked near the Diner, but 3 rows away. So, I am encouraging the Diner parton's in our neighborhood to treat the Diner in like fashion. Do not eat at the Diner. I'm on that side of town often but had never gone into The Diner. I went there with relatives to get a late breakfast. The food was really good. I had sausage, eggs over medium(perfect) grits, and toast. Everyone ordered different breakfast items. The owner takes your order, serves, and pickup. There were nine of us, and we were served in a timely manner. She constantly checks to see if refills of your drinks are needed and if everything is OK. She talks to everyone and makes you feel welcome. A great atmosphere. I will be returning. Orders can be called in for pickup. Only cash is accepted because it's a small family business.
