I was new to Mountain Biking, having been given a high-tech Trek as a gift (from West Coast family members). Davis gave me a lot of tips & tricks to get maximum benefit from my bike. He did not ask for anything (i.e. no sale pitch). I returned next season, this time to have my ski bindings tested. As Davis & I talked like skiers do (we are same generations) we realized that we had skied the same mountains & knew the same "stars" from the early days of "Hot Dog Skiing" (circa 1973, Wayne Wong, K2 Freestyle Demo Teams, etc...). Several times since, I have bought gear, parts, & free advice - with the same great satisfaction. Davis is very personal, honest, knowledgeable, and no matter what, "he will give you the right time of day" (i.e. tell you the way it is). I highly recommend getting your gear or maintenance done by someone like Davis, who is/has used or tested the gear that you are considering especially if you are a newcomer to the sport you are trying. Read moreFirst time purchasing from them and was not impressed with service. My wife had called twice about the Terra-trike rover and information about bike for our daughter with special needs and were never called backed. I finally got hold of someone they put one together and we looked at it. I pretty much had to ask the guy at the shop if he thought it was right size what to do if it isn't etc. He finally adjusted the handle bars and shortened bike. I no nothing about these bikes. Woman tells me on phone i could get 10% discount and doesn't bother to call and tell me she made a mistake. I drove over a hour good thing I had extra cash with me. $950.00 bike and they act like buy or don't. They don't push the sale but they didn't help the sale either. Like the bike. Will have the 30 day free service done there but take it somewhere after that for service. Good thing my daughter...
Read moreOne of my favorite bike shops in the US- and I have been to many. Not only do they have a great selection and a "warehouse" of parts in their little store (see Bikeman.com), they have many of the latest bikes and tech. For example, electric bikes and the Pinion bike transmission. Most importantly , Forest and Davis Carver care about helping people- many times they have given me advice that amounts to NOT buying something they sell- the advice steered me to making an adjustment that would fix the problem without any cost to me. that is integrity- and a love of bikes. Which is why I am intrigued by Carver bikes- and their frames built with a talented family of Chinese welders. So I love the place. But their location - on a busy highway...yuck! Can't have it all ... :-) But seriously, great shop, great mechanics,...
