Disappointing Experience. I have been a patient at Lakes M-Health Fairview Hospital, ER, and Clinic for over seven years, and I must say that my overall experience has been extremely disappointing. The recurring issues with poor customer service, excessively long wait times, and the frustrating runaround I received for every diagnosis have left me dissatisfied and seeking alternative healthcare options.
First and foremost, the customer service at Lakes M-Health Fairview Hospital has consistently fallen short of even the most basic expectations. The staff members have consistently demonstrated a lack of empathy and professionalism towards patients. I felt neglected and ignored during my visits, as if my concerns were of little importance. The communication between the medical staff and patients was severely lacking, with staff members often failing to provide clear explanations or answering my questions adequately.
Another significant issue I faced was the unreasonably long wait times. On multiple occasions, I found myself sitting in the waiting area for hours, enduring uncomfortable and stressful surroundings while waiting to receive medical attention. It is unacceptable that the hospital fails to efficiently manage its resources, resulting in such lengthy delays. These prolonged wait times only added to the frustration and anxiety that patients, including myself, experience when seeking prompt medical care.
Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of my experience with Lakes M-Health Fairview Hospital, ER, and Clinic is the consistent runaround I received for every diagnosis. Despite being a patient for seven years, I constantly felt like I was being passed from one specialist to another, with no clear direction or resolution. Each time I visited, I had to go through a lengthy process of explaining my medical history and symptoms to different doctors, often resulting in conflicting opinions and inconclusive outcomes. It was immensely frustrating to have to repeatedly undergo the same tests and procedures, only to receive no concrete answers or effective treatment plans.
Overall, my experience at Lakes M-Health Fairview Hospital, ER, and Clinic has been marked by poor customer service, excessive wait times, and a disheartening runaround for every diagnosis. After seven years of disappointment, I have lost faith in the hospital's ability to provide efficient and effective healthcare. I will be exploring other options for my medical needs, hoping to find a facility that values its patients and can deliver the standard of care...
Read moreOn 08/19/25, I experienced the most unprofessional and unethical “care” of my life in the Emergency Department at Fairview Wyoming. Nurse Jenna C. refused to administer the anti-nausea medication the doctor had ordered, tossed a puke bag at me while I was actively vomiting, and stormed out of the room without explanation. She also failed to hang the new fluids she was supposed to start before leaving.
After several minutes of waiting in disbelief, I used the call light to have her return. When I told her to adjust her attitude or transfer my care to another nurse, she laughed and said, “whatever.” Seriously? I hope she uses that same arrogant, dismissive attitude when her superiors ask her to explain her conduct…or is it only patients she treats like trash?
The misconduct didn’t stop there. As I was being wheeled back from a CT scan, we passed her at the desk where she loudly said, “I’m so over this place!” in front of the tech and another nurse, who both looked uncomfortable. From the very start of my visit, Jenna was miserable, dismissive, and unprofessional.
On top of that, infection control was practically nonexistent. I saw multiple staff members, including during my IV insertion and removal fail to use gloves. Ports were accessed without alcohol swabs, and I was never even given a hospital gown, despite being sent for a CT scan while still wearing my jeans and a shirt I had been vomiting on all night.
Her behavior was so alarming that I reported it directly to the treating physician and the tech who witnessed it. Under the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Code of Ethics, nurses are required to follow physician orders, advocate for patients, and treat every person with dignity and respect. Jenna C. did the exact opposite: arrogant, neglectful, and unsafe.
To make matters worse, the ER physician failed to provide even the most basic follow-up after my CT scan revealed an asymmetrical tumor in my neck, I was discharged without explanation, referrals, or answers. I’m assuming because he had also mentioned that he was finishing his rounds and his shift was over in the next half hour, but would make sure to stop by before he left..
As countless other reviews show, Fairview Wyoming has developed a culture where patients , especially those under 60, are treated like drug seekers rather than human beings. If this happens to you, document the names and report them to the Minnesota Board of Nursing and the Board of Medical Practice. I am doing exactly that.
Patients deserve safe, ethical, compassionate care ,...
Read moreThis particular location for Fairview is always suffering. I've heard so many horror stories told about this particular location, from staff telling my in-laws they were going to have twins (they were led to believe they were having twins for weeks before it came out that this was not the case), to accidentally messing up and almost killing one of my relatives (until they moved to another hospital to essentially un-do all of the damage they did to them).
I try to avoid this particular Fairview like the plague, but after getting my first kidney stone and vomiting from the pain I could not fathom the ride to my preferred hospital that is about 45 minutes away. The doctor that came in to tell me the results of the Radiology report said I did indeed have a kidney stone, but then said they found a calcification on my other side (right). My father and I tried to do more prompting, but the doctor was incredibly dismissive and mumbled that he didn't think it was related to the kidney stone I currently had.
I am aware of medical dictation and transcription, and have experience transcribing and reading Radiology reports. When I combed through the report there was absolutely no mention in the report of a calcification on the right side of my body.
Fast-forward to a follow-up visit with my provider: I asked my doctor about the calcification and after doing some digging, she said she too found that there was no calcification mentioned, nor did it show up on any of the tests or records that they gathered during my stay. I'm being told it's likely that he read the report wrong, realized he had done so, and then became aloof and dismissive because he didn't want to admit he misread the information (or was likely thinking I was another patient admitted to the ER).
I have not been able to get ahold of this doctor. But his medical team and Radiology all agreed that there was no mention of a calcification on my right side in his notes or dictation (and they all suggested just as my personal physician did, that he "misspoke"). Very frustrating, but...
