My mom has been at this facility for 3 months and we are very happy with the staff and her care. She was at Brookridge and it was HORRIBLE. They are VERY expensive and my mom is private pay, but she was not even receiving basic CNA care and management and the director just kept making up excuses and seemed to do nothing to ensure proper care was given. She had 'constant' skin breakdown, bedsores, and recurring UTI's from lack of hygiene care, was not getting proper nutrition and was in the hospital numerous times because of the UTI's. It was a TERRIBLE experience and we honestly hated to leave her and made sure she had 2 visits a day for the short 3 months we had her there. We were concerned because they were supposed to be "the Best Around", but that could not have been farther from the truth. Nice facilities with beautiful campuses with religious affiliations don't always mean the best of care...we certainly learned that the hard way!!! We weren't sure what to expect at Yadkin Nursing Center, but I had heard good things about them, but we were still skeptical and guarded. Well, they have exceeded our expectations in my mom's care and have earned our trust. The staff is always very friendly and responsive, the facility is always clean with no odors, and she has not had any skin breakdown, bedsores, UTI's or hospital stays at all since she has arrived here! My mom has dementia, so prior to coming here, she would constantly make a humming/wailing sound as her way of communicating when she was anxious. Although we told the other facility that when she does that, she needs something, she just can't communicate it, but they ignored it and said she was just "singing" and didn't address the issues or try to find out what she needed. Since being at Yadkin Nursing Center, she has stopped doing that completed. Now if she needs to be repositioned or something of that nature, she will hum, but her anxiety wailing is completely gone. We can tell she is content here and seems much happier, and that is a big relief. Not only that, but her cognition has improved dramatically! Prior to coming here, there were a lot of days she did not know us, but in the past 7-8 weeks, she knows who we are again! She recognizes us and other family members when we face-time them, she now remembers events/people and she can recall things from her past. She has improved so much since being at Yadkin Nursing Center and we could not be more grateful to them. Of course we wish she could be home with us, but at least now we feel a huge sense of relief because we know my mom is being taken care of by people who truly seem to care about the residents at their facility and we feel she is in good hands. We still go daily, but we no longer feel that we 'HAVE' to go by just to be sure she is being taken care of appropriately. We are so thankful that Yadkin Nursing Center has given us (and her) that peace of mind and feeling...
Read moreMy friend has been a resident there for a year. She was admitted into the rehab portion and then later to the long-term care skilled unit. I visit her basically every single day and in particular lots of times during meals. I have 35 years in the assisted living industry and provided and I'm an advocate for high quality care for our residents. I have been incredibly impressed with the care she receives. She is Always clean and dry, they lotion her,fix her hair and pay attention to personal care details. The food is good, housekeeping does a great job because rarely do you ever smell anything and you're going to smell urine and feces in a nursing home at some time or another trust me. Sanitation rating is very high as well and all the staff have always been very nice to me. Laundry personnel also do a good job. Unfortunately, especially since COVID health care industry is incredibly challenging from a staffing standpoint. Very, very, very challenging. It's certainly not perfect and nowhere is. Go the ED are stay in a hospital and see what you get!!!! Anyway, hats off to Yadkin...
Read moreMy mom was there for rehab. PT/OT was amazing. Most not all of the CNAs and nurses was rude and had attitudes when my mom needed assistance. I personally saw call lights going off for over an hours. While call lights was going off nurses would be at the nurses station talking and laughing. My mom was left in the bathroom for over an hour with the CNA not showing back up to help her out causing my mom to have to do it herself. My mom was a fall risk and needed assistance they are lucky she did not fall. Most of the staff was rude and hateful when you had questions about anything no one seemed to be able to answer them. My mom went without a bath for 7 days and PT had to go say something about her not getting a shower. When mom had to go to the bathroom most of the time it took them anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to come answer the call light and take her to...
