They did a nice job renovating the location.
The music was quite loud like a bar as opposed to a restaurant, could converse, but was on the edge of making it difficult.
Chips and salsa were good, although I wish they had a spicier salsa version for those that like some heat in their salsa.
We had the Mole chicken and Choripollo, both were good. The mole sauce had a great rich flavor, but a bit salty. Choripolla was good, however, I really wish it had been served with tortillas. Both dishes could use more spice, I know there is care given to food as so many people are sensitive to any spice - but need to turn up the heat.
Service, was a bit sketchy - asked for water and never got it. Had to ask for more salsa, had to ask for tortillas that were supposed to be brought with the mole chicken, we asked for a spicy salsa, (red or green) never got it.
Servers seemed to be confused, as to who was supposed to do what, not a lot of coordinated team work. I know they are new and learning, and I am very hopeful that the service improves. As the restaurant cleared out a bit we did get more attentive service.
Overall we are very, very happy to have a nice, clean sit-down restaurant in Yadkinville, and based on the crowd it seems our town has been desperate for a real restaurant.
We will definitely continue going there and are excited to try more of their menu items. I hope they are very successful and that success brings more to Yadkinville, so we do not have to drive to Mocksville to spend our money
Post script - we had leftover mole chicken - added some more grilled chicken (no salt) to the mole sauce at home and it was excellent. Already thinking to go back for more mole sauce... Maybe take a jar...
Read moreI was excited to try this new restaurant as Mexican is my favorite. I struggled with the star rating for this first visit. They have only been open a few weeks at this time. The food was delicious. I think this was the best chimichanga I have ever had, and that says a lot! However, our night was disappointing because of the service. The staff was very disorganized and seemed to have too many different tasks to handle to properly take care of customers. There did not seem to be anyone actually in charge and keeping the staff focused. We ordered drinks, sodas and tea, and waited a good ten minutes before receiving the two sodas. I had to repeatedly ask for my tea before receiving it after another ten to fifteen minutes. We then waited quite a while before our order was taken. Our food came fairly quickly once we were able to order and as I said, it was delicious. Drink refill requests were very slow in coming and then all three of the refills were the wrong drink, after taking an unusually long time. We then ordered dessert and that took another twenty or so minutes and multiple inquiries before we received it. Once again, delicious, but it shouldn't take twenty minutes to serve three pieces of cake. So, I give them 5 stars for the food but only 1 star for service. Two hours for dinner is entirely too long. I doubt we will be back anytime soon. I hope they are able to resolve the management and staffing issues because it would be a shame to lose a restaurant with...
Read moreA friend recommended it to me so figured I'd give it a shot and let me say I'm glad I did! Upon walking in I noticed all the nice scenery and atmosphere inside. The solid wood tables and chairs with the designs look very good! A gentleman took my drink order then a lovely young lady brought me chips and salsa and the guacamole I ordered then she took my order for food. I ordered the lunch 2 enchiladas special with chicken enchiladas, rice and beans. Now let's talk about the salsa and guacamole. The salsa is very mild with little heat, but has really good flavor. Personally I like more hot salsa, but I didn't ask for anything hotter due to how good flavor the mold salsa had. The guacamole was a chunky style with tomatoes, onions etc in it and it was also very good and a reasonable amount for the price in my opinion. Now for the main coarse. The enchiladas were covered in a red sauce and filled with chicken. I'm not a giant fan of the red sauce at most places, but here it was actually really good!! The rice tasted fresh and had decent flavor although could've had a little more, but still good! The beans were excellent!! Honestly they're probably the best beans I've had anywhere and that's saying a lot considering we love Mexican food! The service was very good and everyone was friendly. Overall I'm very glad I stopped in for lunch and I will definitely recommended it to others and will be back!! Stop in and give them a try next time you're...
