Tom’s Meat Market on Gun Lake — Local services in Yankee Springs Township

I spent some time at Yankee Spring and discovered this store after a friend recommended their doughnuts. When I walked in, the new owner Anna warmly greeted me and I liked the smell of the fresh doughnuts. They were AMAZING! I love fresh doughnuts, it was worth coming out for them! I guess they are every Saturday and Sunday.

The store had that classic rustic look and it felt like the store I used to go to as a kid when I went camping with my family. I was really impressed with their liquor selection, and a pretty good prices for being farther from Grand Rapids.

I tried some of the sausage they make and I was impressed with how good they were. Highly recommend it next time your camping there. Speaking of, they had your basic camping needs, charcoal, cereal, soda.

Stopped at Tom's on gun lake after a family visit to Yankee Springs recreation park. This was the perfect little shop for quick pick ups of needed food items and more. They had a slightly smaller parking lot, but it's good for the size of the shop. Their sign was large and easy to spot, which I love when driving around winding roads. Everything in the shop looked well organized and clean. They had fresh meat at their butcher, a deli section with meats, cheese, and pre-cooked meals/sides. Dairy, produce, and non-perishables were also available. Fun that the shop had a special "Beer Cave" section for adult beer lovers, and the staff was great. Excellent little meat/deli/grocery store. Has all the essentials you’d need. We found this little gem while camping at the Yankee Springs state campground. Literally 5 min biking distance from the campground. They have fresh veggies and fruit, a deli with pasta, desserts, jerky, meat, canned goods, spirits, wines, pop, a beer cave, candy and chips. Excellent little store. Staff was very friendly and the store was very clean. We visited multiple times. Handicapped parking and ramp to get inside available.
