Gun Lake Cocina — Restaurant in Yankee Springs Township

We stopped in for ice cream. We ordered 4 flurries. Two were specialty and cost extra due to extra toppings (hot fudge, Oreos and choc chunks). First specialty flurry came out in a couple minutes. The second two regular flurries came out a few minutes later. The 4th one took another 15 minutes to get out to us. The guy making our sundaes said an inside order came up they had to do first before finishing making our order that he had already completed 3/4s of. Orders should be made in the order they are received regardless if the customer is inside or outside. Once we got the last specialty one I realized I didn't have the topping in there that were advertised. We check the other specialty one we ordered and it didn't have the advertised toppings either, both were missing Oreos and hot fudge. The chocolate chunks were the very thin style choc chips you would find in mint ice cream. By this point everyone except me was almost done with their ice cream. We came here for Lunch for the first time and it was very good! The servers were very nice. The restaurant was clean. The food was delicious! I ordered a combo chicken flauta and chicken taco and would get it again! The atmosphere is nice, it's a great little place!

Editing a year later: This year we have been there twice and we will not be back. The prices have gone up an extreme amount. The food was not good. My husband got the burrito loco which is almost $20 and it was gross. The only wet sauce the burrito haf was that it was in a pool of grease. The shrimp was not cooked right...either it was not fully cooked or it was not good anymore. He got about half of it down and had to spit it out because he couldn't stomach another bite and left the restaurant feeling sick. I got taquitos which were okay. Our kids got cheese quesedillas which had so much cheese that you basically were chewing on a giant glob of cheese. Our bill was $50 and we left feeling sick and unsatisfied. We won't be back for...

My mom and I thought we’d give this place a try since we love AUTHENTIC Mexican food and of course Margaritas. We typically go to El Burrito for Mexican plus the BEST margaritas you will ever have. We each ordered 2 steak taxos(skirt streak) NO SEASONING absolutely ZERO flavor, I ordered a side of rice which I never got. The margaritas were AWFUL, typically our alcohol bill is more than our food bill NOT here. They were the worst margaritas I’ve ever had and believe me I’m a margarita snob, we each had one a piece. It was terrible!!! DO NOT go there! I’m all about supporting small businesses, but if they need to get it together if they wanna stay in business.
