As someone who has joined various gyms in town, I would never recommend joining this horrible place. The owner Kasey is unprofessional and instead of acknowledging the reasons for our poor experience, she gives excuses as to why the gym operates horribly. I called in over a month before my monthly membership was set to renew and expressed that due to my mother passing, I wasn’t sure if I would be back in the area and may have to cancel. The staff told me to call in when I have to cancel. When I did, they said I have to give a 30 day notice per the contract and when I expressed that I called in over a month prior regarding this and would like to report the employee that gave me mis-information, they said they don’t track who says what to customers. Then when cancelling both mine and my husbands membership, the front desk employee told my husband he has 30 days to still use the gym after submitting to cancel, we received a call an hour later stating that the front desk girl messed up the contract and that he can’t return, despite them yet again messing up the information and not owning what they physically wrote in the cancellation contract, yet our past contract applies despite the staff giving misinformation. Kasey continued to give excuses and seems to only want to follow certain contracts, and not others. She needs to educate herself and her employees or hire an actual business manager that is willing to provide actual assistance instead of excuses. Anytime fitness features amazing staffing, internal tracking that notes who you spoke with and is highly professional compared to this poorly run establishment. Additionally, get fit Yelm had poor cleanliness and although they say they price match, we had to pay additional fees the first month to get the price match. Read moreHave rules posted everywhere and don't enforce them. There will be staff there and watch people breaking the rules and not do anything. They will also (after insisting over and over and over again) that they want to enforce them and that's why there are cameras. When you report an exact date and time (because if its too late they wont review it) they will say they reach out to the person and if they are reached out to, often enough they will be kicked out. They will not. I went to 3 different people that were supposedly "reached out to" and not a single one of them was actually reached out to. There are liars who work here and I suspect I know who they are but no one will ever take any accountability. If anyone has a good experience its because they know the gym personally or the gym likes them. If you haven't noticed by now, they try and scam you with their cancellation policies. My fiancé is in the military and as a result we have moved and as a result are not able to fulfill their absurd "policy" of showing up prostrating yourself, profusely apologizing for not liking the slop they feed you, and even then you cant get out of it. Even though I know people who have got out of it for free no questions asked. They have kept charging us despite calling and explaining this 2 months before and they just pretend you haven't. They invent reasons why it isn't legit and then threaten to send you to collections if you don't pay. Don't worry people you don't need to pay, call the bank report it as fraudulent and then you get your money back. Don't let them bully you. Also the gym itself isn't any good. Bad equipment and far too expensive for what you get. I hope you're noticing with these reviews of people who aren't their friends that they are shifty and if for whatever reason they decide they don't like you, you are going to have a really bad time....
Read moreI had nothing but problems with this business. I tried to cancel my month to month that is apparently automatic AFTER your contract ends, early in Nov. My contract ended end of Nov. I sent a letter, and email, got on their Facebook page, personally messaged them to cancel, which they denied, posted a request to cancel, they blocked me then they blocked my husband Facebook account when I posted a question off his account, then they removed the poor star ratings on their Facebook page.
When the post office said they do not deliver certified mail to PO boxes and the physical address did not show up in the Post Office system, I sent a fax to cancel... These are some of the email responses I got from Toni the manager- "Per your contract Page 2 Paragraph 5 they are, however, (the letter )to be sent certified. This ensures that you have accurate records of your cancel in the event that it is not received by the business. The same paragraph states that your membership will automatically renew beyond your year-long contract if you do not cancel in the manners provided." Again, they only have a PO Box for mailing! Also, "The only further money to be debited from your account is your final payment due on the 1st of January. In the event that the payment does not clear there will be no further attempt to collect or further communication with you but rather the account will be automatically assigned to Grimm Collection Agency." They kept taking money from my account so the Bank said I should cancel my card, this is what other people did too and they said they were sent directly to collections as well. FITSTOP 24 could accept a final payment in a check or money order but they insist on a card in what appears to be an attempt to continue to charge the card. *Check your contract and send a FAX to cancel - there is no other...
