Puerto Vallarta Restaurant — Restaurant in Yelm

Let me start off by saying that this review is not based on a single visit, but three separate visits that all resulted in a terrible overall experience. We first came here after moving to the local area of Yelm a little over a year and a half ago. First visit was slow service, good food and decent prices. Second visit consisted of really poor service, just ok food and same decent prices. Tonight took the cake.

We came in on a friday at about 645pm, I get it, middle of dinner rush. The place was semi busy with plenty of seating and parking. Nothing too crazy. We chose to sit in the open seating by the bar in hopes for a little faster service, as the last two visits we sat in the dining section and experienced slower than usual service. We got our chips and salsa within 2-3 minutes and placed our drink orders. The drinks came out quick and with great service. The waitress was very friendly and had an very cute and bubbly personality.

About 10 minutes after we got our drinks she came back around to get our food order. We ordered 2 very simple meals and another round of drinks. 30 more minutes later we still dont have meals, and our second round of drinks finally arrives. I told my wife to not drink the second drink until our food arrived because if it took anymore than 5 minutes to get our food we were leaving. Sure enough the waitress passes by our table again and my wife asks about our food. We were politely informed that they were working on getting it out now. Another 7-8 minutes goes by and still no food. We have been here for coming up on an hour with only drinks and chips and salsa. This is unacceptable by any restaurant standards. I grew up in a family owned restaurant and know how long it takes any kitchen on a busy night and this wasnt even that busy.

After waiting almost an hour to have chips and salsa and one round of drinks we went to the bar and canceled the food and second round of drinks. We were there for dinner and drinks before a movie, and ended up missing our movie while waiting on a simple dinner. Please save yourself the hassle and DO NOT GO HERE for a quick bite to eat before anything. The service is just ok, and the wait times are HORRIBLE. In no way shape or form is this acceptable for a small town mexican place to have customers waiting for an hour just to have dinner.

I gave you three chances and your restaurant struck out all three times. Never again will I patron this poor excuse for a restaurant. It's sad too because the 2 times we have gotten food it was...

Honestly so disappointing. Especially since it’s one of the few Mexican restaurants in Yelm. I placed an order over the phone. The woman repeated everything back to me and it was the correct order. However when I got there I was greeted by a not exactly pleasant hostess. I ordered a margarita over the phone but the first person I spoke with said I had to come into the restaurant to order that so that is what I told the hostess when I got there, that I needed to add my margarita. She said “ I have no idea why she told you that” and then seemed obviously irritated to add it to my order because they’re card reader was acting up. When I got my food I had noticed they forgot the coke we ordered, I know for a fact we ordered it. The woman repeated it back to us and I clarified with my husband that he heard her say it too. The hostess said that apparently we did not order a coke and seem quite irritated to have to add it to the order. I looked in my bag to look at the receipt and saw they never even gave me my receipt. I had enough at that point so I just left. When I got home I realized that they actually messed up the entire order. I asked for beef tacos, ended up with chicken. Even had they not been rude and messed up the order it over all was just not that great. Disappointed and it was to expensive to not even get...

The food and drinks did not come out in the right order. We did not get our drinks until our food was already served. The drinks were not good so we did not end up drinking them. They did not have a wine choice menu so they just brought me out one and I just said yes I would keep it but did not end up drinking it. They also did not ID which I would normally not care about but I figure it was important to express in this review for those who may be allowing underage kids to go there alone. They did not attend to our table the way that I'm used to getting service at a restaurant. We had like three different waiters because they can tell we were not set up with everything we needed and we also had to stop and ask different ones for help so everything was coming at different times and did not make the meal enjoyable from start to finish. It was also my birthday and they did not offer a special amenities not like I was expecting, but normally they at least sing a song or offer a free dessert. Something I could get on video for my friends and family to see on Facebook. I'm in a motorized wheelchair and it was also hard to find comfortable seating. It does not seem like they have any special designated area for those who cannot sit in regular seats. Food was okay though nothing...
