I'm a Verizon customer in my 70s who just bought a new iPhone SE from Apple store with the new charging end now required on all iPhones by EU to make charging standard. I went to my local Verizon store to get help setting up my new phone as I'm no digital native, and the manager Caleb sold me $127. worth of charging blocks and charging cords for the new end. However, what he didn't tell me was that I do NOT need those new charging items as all my older iPhone charging cables and plug-ins work just fine with this new phone. Having googled the new iPhone to understand what I bought that afternoon, I learned that I didn't need ANY of that stuff because all my older Apple charging devices work just fine with Apple's latest 2023 generation of iPhones. I'm sure Caleb, being in the phone business, knew that. When I went back to the same store that same afternoon to return the $127.11 of un-needed equipment, Caleb was reluctant and not so nice about the return.
