Mattress Doctor Lafayette — Local services in Youngsville

We found Mattress Doctor via Facebook and purchased a king sized mattress, bed frame, and all linens. Our purchased was definitely valued at over $1000+. Within days of having the frame, it broke. We went back to the store and they gave us another frame (the same design/brand) as a replacement. Perfect.

Within two weeks, that frame broke. When we went back to the store, they tried to give us another frame in the same design and brand. We declined. I told them that I wanted a new frame with a different brand or a refund. Mike was there. Another client entered the store and Mike excused himself from our conversation and disappeared for 20+ minutes. At this point, I didn’t want another frame anymore. We have two small children and I didn’t find this to be professional so I loaded my children up in our vehicle and told my husband to let Mike know we were done and just to refund us.

After Mike heard me start the vehicle, he ran over with a catalog and told me to pick a new frame. Frankly, I don’t think it should have gotten to this point but I picked a new frame and we left. We’ve had this third frame for a few months and low and behold, it just broke.

Other negatives I should note would be that the warehouse is extremely hot. When they only have the one young store rep on the floor, families wait in that warehouse sometimes 30+ minutes for service and the heat is terrible. Whenever we were finally asked for payment, we were moved to a small portable building that was cluttered and smelled. At least it had AC. The young floor rep looks overworked, overwhelmed and unenthusiastic about his job.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is because our actual mattress is great. Unfortunately, the experience of having three frames break has completely tainted any positive feedback I have about this business. At this point, we will have to purchase another frame at a different business. I’m very disappointed with my experience especially considering that I’m a huge supporter of small businesses.

.Spoke with the mattress doctor over the phone. Informed him our memory foam mattress is six years old and the issues we have with it. He suggested the Ascend Aeroflex 14” hybrid. He also informed us about the Malouf pillows that are cooling activated. As normal I searched on internet for product price comparisons. On the mattress alone he was $900 less than all others. We ordered online since living out of state and received free delivery. Everything showed up 3 days early to our surprise. The best sleep since our new mattress and pillows!!!! This is the best mattress store in Lafayette / Youngsville / surrounding Acadiana LA areas. We checked probably 10-15 different stores and they not only had the best prices out of all of them, but they treated us better too. Another great thing is they are 100% locally owned and operated, so they actually care about their customers. I encourage everyone to support local businesses by shopping local; Amazon, Walmart, Target, Big Lots, and even Mattress Firm, are NOT your friends. Don't be fooled.
