Review for U-Pick Los Rios Ranch - Discriminatory Treatment and Rude Staff Ruined Our Family Outing We took our family to U-Pick Los Rios Rancho for a fun apple-picking day, but it turned into a nightmare. After picking apples in one area, we noticed other groups casually walking to another section for more varieties—no issues. But we were suddenly singled out by staff, forced to trek all the way back to the entrance, and rerouted like we were criminals, even though everyone else was heading the same way without a problem. The worst part? The cart driver who confronted us was incredibly rude—refused to explain the “rules,” and then started hurling insults and name-calling at us in front of our kids. It felt outright discriminatory and left everyone upset and humiliated. This place has no business charging families for such a toxic experience. Read moreWe had an overall fun time visiting and picking apples. We probably should have come last month, as it was hard to find red apples this time. The grounds feel a bit unorganized and crowded, making it confusing to figure out where to go, what’s needed, and where to get tickets. For the number of people and the money they bring in, the bathrooms definitely need an upgrade as the portapotties were horrendous.
The apples themselves are fresh and tasty, but at $4 per pound, they’re not cheap. I was also surprised they charge for plastic bags even after spending over $60 on apples. I’ve been coming here for 30 years, and social media has definitely turned these once-quiet spots into packed zoos! Still, give it a try —...
Read moreThere is ton of variety to choose from as far as the U-pick goes. They have so many different apples, tomatoes, berries, and other vegetables. It can be pretty expensive but is worth doing every now and then. The whole farm itself is huge and a good portion of it is uphill so just know that it will be a bit of a hike depending on where on the farm you go fortunately they do have a wagon ride that can reduce walking times. Only thing I disliked was how fast the tomatoes that were picked immediately got mushy and started going bad the next day, other than that the apples and the...
