Public Service Announcement: Buyer Beware ~ My Experience with iShattered (Linden Ave, Zanesville) Since I canât leave a review on their page, Iâm sharing here and YES, I went to them directly first. I was treated extremely poorly, so please donât suggest I should have talked to them. I did. Read on if youâre considering going to iShattered on Linden in Zanesville. Spoiler: donât. I went there after cracking my iPhone screen (thanks to a run-in with a rake), and trusted their recommendation to buy the more expensive screen that was supposedly waterproof. A couple months later, my phone overheated badly after charging. I unplugged it immediately, but it stayed hot and started acting strange. I shut it down, but it never turned back on. I took it to another store (I wonât name them here), and they physically showed me moisture inside and even demonstrated how air puffed out of the top edge, the screen was not sealed properly at all. It wasnât even damp-proof, let alone waterproof. I never dropped the phone in water. Maybe a little sweat while outide with horses or something, but thatâs it. The only reason I even contacted iShattered was to let them know what happened and to give them a chance to be honest about it, maybe even apologize. Instead, I was treated like complete trash. One of them even asked me, in a snarky tone, âWell howâd you get it wet?â as if it was all my fault. For the record, my phone was never submerged. This was a bad installation issue. My carrier store actually tried to help but the heat and moisture had already fried the phone. I had to pay off that dead phone (another $700+), buy a new one, and couldnât even get trade-in value without a working screen, so I took it home and stuck it in rice to try to get anything back. All in, I lost over $1,000 because of their poor workmanship and all I wanted was some accountability. Instead, I got blame and nasty attitude. Iâm a former business owner, and I would never treat a customer the way I was treated. I expected nothing from them except decency, and I didnât even get that. To top it off, my carrier said theyâve seen more phones come in with the same issue after screen replacements from iShattered, expensive screens not sealed right, moisture gets in, phone fries. Bottom line: DO NOT go to iShattered in Zanesville. They donât stand by their work, and they donât value their customers. I donât care what âI shatterâ in the future, theyâll never...
Read moreMy mother dropped her phone off that had been ran over. The only number iShattered had to contact was mine. I received a call Sept. 12 at 4:25pm from a guy named Nate letting me know it couldnât be fix and the cost was $29.00. At 4:58pm the same day I received a call back from Nate saying he thought he may be able to fix it that he jumped the gun. He said he would call or text me the next day to let me know if it could be fixed. I had not received a call or text on Wednesday, Sept. 13 so I had my mother go get a phone on Thursday, Sept 14. My mother goes in today, Friday Sept. 15 to pick up her phone and pay the $29.00. The guy at the front desk said it would be ready in about 10 mins. and that it was fixed. My mom 75 years old was confused and told them she would be back she had another errand to run. She called me when she got into the car telling me they said. I called right away and explained what had been going on. The guy got Nate on the phone. Nate acted irritated and ask me to repeat what was going on. After I explained what he told me he said someone came in and approved for the phone to be fixed. I said sir no one has been in until 5 mins ago and she was confused and left to run another errand and to call me to see what was going on. He got very irritated telling me it had been very crazy in there this week. I informed Nate that we are not paying $4??.00 to get that phone fixed to put the old screen back on and my mother will be back in to pick it up. After hanging up the phone I received a call from Nate at 3:56pm saying he took off his screen and put back on the old one and she would not have to pay the $29.00. So I am giving this review because you need to make sure you keep tract of dates, times and who you speak to so this donât happen to you. Thank you Nate for not charging my...
Read moreFrustrated and disappointed. My iPhone XSMAX screen cracked a few weeks ago but still worked after it fell out of my pocket. Last Saturday the screen started fading and within half an hour the phone died. I emailed Kenton and asked if a screen replacement would fix the phone. He responded quickly and said yes , so I booked an appointment for Thursday, which was the first availability. Monday, I went to ATT to see if I could temporarily move service to my old iPhone 6S plus and they did this for me. They also told me they could take my phone on trade even with a cracked screen. I told them that I had an appointment on Thursday to fix it and wanted to contact Kenton first. Not long after leaving ATT Kenton actually called ME! He said he could fix my phone that day! I told him about the trade in offer and he kindly cancelled my Thursday appointment. Within an hour of canceling,it hit me that I couldnât trade in the dead phone. Itâs a 512GB and I have things stored in the phones memory that I canât lose!! I called, texted and emailed Kenton right away to try to keep my appointment. The next day he responded to my email and asked if this was for the XS MAX? I said yes. NO RESPONSE for two days until after not showing up at my place Thursday . He emailed me that he had a full day and needed to reschedule. He asked if he could get me in tomorrow (Friday). I said I was available anytime after 2:30 but as of now (9 PM) I havenât heard a word from him. Now I have to wait until at least Monday for a chance to find someone to help me. It will be another business. Im really frustrated with the lack of communication and wondering if itâs spite for canceling my appointment. Unprofessional...
