After spending the day before in busy Stockholm we felt like slowing down and going for a nice walk with our dog.
This fantastic park was just a 10' drive away from our vacation rental. Easy accessible with lots - really lots - of free parking space right in front. Some bathrooms are right at front - also where the public bus stops. A map provides first informations about the park. Just a bit further is a bigger settlement with informations, more bathrooms and a restaurant.
Several well marked trails lead around the park. We took the trail from the park entrance around Lake Bylsjön and back. Around 4-5km roundtrip.
On open fields and through a farm settlement at first, the trail later on leads through charming forests and then around the small, but wonderful Lake Bylsjön. Some spots were perfect for our dog to take a dip in the water. And there's a nice picknick place right at the lake as well.
Half of the path is flat and easy (clockwise seen) and accessible by wheelchairs and strollers with a bit of work. The other half is still flat, but in no ways accessible by wheelchairs and strollers.
We had a great time here at the park. Even though it was full summer, the park only had few visitors. Strange, because it's so easy to access and so close to Stockholm. Free entrance and parking, wonderful forests and landscapes. One of the very good Parks we've visited on our Sweden Road Trip.
Loved it.

Mycket vatten i dikena. Rinner små forsar i skogen.

Great Midsummer venue with family activities including nature museum, working farm, cafe serving Fika and lunch menu of popular Swedish food. Further down the road (apx 100 meters) farm with pony rides for children, different farm animals for children to see, and two shops. The small shop behind the main building sells meat products and eggs grown on the farm. It also sells sausages and korvs (including some made from beef raised on site) for visitors to grill themselves on a large charcoal grill. Tractor pulled wagon rides and plenty of scenic walking paths are also available. Plenty of free WCs. Most of the main attractions are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Good year-round venue for families. Public bus access from Hansen Terminal.

Wow, excellent national park (accessible by transit, but would be very preferable to have your own car!) less than 30 minutes from Stockholm. My friends and I did a good 10km hike to Årsjön from the main parking lot. Ranger / guide at visitor center was very personable and friendly and provided range of options for our stroll.
Our stroll was gorgeous, non strenuous, and fairly quiet for a Sunday afternoon.
One of my favourite parts about the park is that there are fire pits with free firewood... definitely something I haven’t seen in Canada + US national parks. Bring hot dogs! lake was very cold but warming up by fire was an awesome experience. As cherry on top spotted an adolescent roe deer on hike back to entrance.

This is a great national park with both hard and easy trails. We did the Barnvagnsslingan trail (5 km long) which is a circular loop. This is noted with the red hexagon and white dot label on the trail. The name is Bylsjöpromenaden (see photo). The entrance is next to a car park (which is next to a bus stop in case you are coming by bus). The trail can be done with a stroller but there is some elevation at places so be prepare! However the views are stunning going around a lake. We even saw a few people camping in the forest. There are designated camping areas. There are also toilets and a cafe close to the entrance of the trail. Overall highly recommended.

Paradiset Nature Reserve in Huddinge is a tranquil oasis and a gem for nature lovers. Located just a few miles south of Stockholm, this reserve offers a fantastic opportunity to get close to nature and enjoy its beauty.
One of the most impressive aspects of Paradiset is its varied landscape. Here you can find everything from enchanted forests with tall spruces and pines to open meadows and sparkling lakes. The numerous hiking trails, including part of the Sörmlandsleden, make the area an ideal place for long walks and outdoor adventures.
For those interested in flora and fauna, there is much to discover. The reserve is home to a rich variety of wildlife and plant life, and you may encounter everything from deer to rare orchids. Bird watchers will also appreciate the many bird species that thrive in the area.
Paradiset Nature Reserve also offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities. There are several rest areas with barbecue facilities, making it easy to take a break and enjoy a picnic in the middle of nature. In winter, the area transforms into a winter paradise with opportunities for skiing and ice skating.
In summary, Paradiset Nature Reserve is a perfect destination for those seeking a nature experience without having to travel far from the city. With its scenic views, well-maintained hiking trails, and rich biodiversity, this reserve offers a welcome break from everyday life and a chance to truly relax and enjoy nature.

I was delighted with the scenery in this forest and the well-established trails. I was grateful for that. Unfortunately, the trail signs didn't match the map. This is crucial. When hiking with children, accuracy and safety are paramount. This forced us to backtrack to get out of the forest before dark. I hope someone can review and correct the actual trail signs. We started at the Parasite parking lot and followed the green and white signs. At the yellow circle, they misaligned us, taking us south of the lake and continuing on the wrong path.……Those who want to hike here, please pay attention to this detail.

Really good place to start or end a short hiking trip. You can refill water at a hand pump. On Sundays they have a smal cafe (opens about 10).
Edit The small meadow where you used to be able to put up a tents is now forbidden high nature value. You are allowed to camp in the forest, but there are not many suitable spots close by (we found one though).

Fantastic national park in Huddinge. Highly recommended for a day hike or even stay over in one of the shelters or cabin or why not in your own tent. Also perfect to swim in one of the lakes in the national park! Several hiking trails are available! You will not regret visiting Paradiset!

Beautiful scenery across the forest. There's a lake, where there are some benches, a small cabin (for those who wish to stay there at night) and communal grills. There's toilets and potable water some 200 meters from the parking lot.
It's free (for now).

My favourite secret beach in Stockholm. It's entirely in nature and far from the city. I love the rock component and the view from the high cliff. There is only one coffee shop closer by. It's good to carry your food when going there.

Amazing place! Beautiful sea😍
on the day i was there i didn't see any seagulls which was nice. It's definitely one of my go to places to enjoy the sea in driving distance from Stockholm

One of few places in surroundings, where you can see horizon and neverending sea. Local paths provides relaxing hikes in forests. Also possible to swim in Baltic during summer.

This place is magical even during winter. Small bays, sand beaches, woods and cliffs create beautiful views. I am looking forward to bath here in the summer !

Tranquility at its best! Lövhagen bus (858) only runs during summer. Another way to reach this place is taking a walk from Sjögången.
