Pre-booked tickets for this 1 month in advance. It is not easy to get tickets on the spot, unless you go early and are prepared to wait there for much later timings.
There are 2 routes, and I felt this route was better. The area surrounding Shengxing station is also a lot more interesting. There are many shops for eating or buying random gifts. It was also nice to be able to take photos on the tracks.
We booked the latest slot 5.30pm. You need to be there to claim the tickets 40 mins before. You will be asked to gather by 5.10 to watch a instructional video. After that, you get assigned to your carriages. It is very systematic
For the evening slot, you get to experience the mountain line when it's still bright on your way to longteng station. Coming back, the sky is dark so it's a different scene. I thought this was more interesting. The lights at night are pretty.
Do dress warmly for the evening slot as the railbike is completely exposed and the night wind is super chilly. I suppose it would be hot during summer or in the daytime slots.
It was an interesting experience for all of us, and i'm really glad we made the trip here

Actually,it is not crowded from Monday to Friday. Tourists can freely explore the old train station in the mountain. Restaurants here certainly serve unique local food and tea that you will like. The latest popular activity is railbiking on the old railway route. You have to make a reservation online first. Railbiking fare is inexpensive. I suggest you to invite your friends to go with you. Definitely, you will see stunningly beautiful scenery on the biking trail including the famous broken bridge. It takes about 1.5 hours to finish the thrilling biking journey.

This is going to be a popular tourist attraction. It just recently opened and still some development going on, so experience it while it's still fresh.
There's the rail bike which is quite unique. Four people to a bike. Must book weeks in advance online. There's tourist buses coming at every available time.
It's quite beautiful, and lots of stores and food nearby as well. Definitely worth a visit.
NOTE: This place doesn't seem very accessible for those who may have a disability.

I booked the rail bike ticket but i missed it coz long travel from Taipei but I had a nice time there. The chief at train station is very nice, he showed me around the station and old street and took me to take a photo with rail bike. Also, he recommended a taxi driver who can bring me to see the bridge. He is a good tour guide. They both are so friendly.
When you travel in Taiwan, you will find nice and helpful people everywhere.

A unique attraction, great for those who are fascinated by trains. Kind of a hassle that tickets can only be purchased via its official website, so one has to really plan a trip well. Also, those with medical or mental conditions are not allowed to ride, as the train goes up and down hills and passes through a tunnel. The Old street nearby is also a wonderful attraction. Overall, a place for great photography.

Zhongshe Flower Market can be reached by walking from Tai'an Train Station, approximately 1 km away. It is quite hard to get a cab from Tai'an though as the place is very 'deserted'. If you prefer to take a cab, recommend to alight at Houli Train Station as there are more amenities and people there.
The walk to the flower market from Tai'an would have taken 20 mins or so but for us it took about 45 mins as there were a few fields of flowers where we hung around to take pictures.
The flower market is huge, and other than selling flowers and seeds, they also have souvenir shops and a table BBQ place. They offer flower viewing + BBQ packages if one is hungry. The ticket for the flower viewing cost NT150/pax.
Needless to say, the place is huge with lots of flowers and props. Photo opportunities abound. Of note are 2 pink pianos in a field of Lavender which looks like something out of a Korean or Taiwanese drama. There are also some swings that couples can seat on and take photos. One can even (probably) take wedding photos here during the off season where there are less people.
Do note that in different times of the year, there are different flowers on display. We came here in January expecting sunflowers but obviously sunflowers are only in season in summer, so we didn't see any. Check their website for the seasonal details.
Overall, if you like flowers, this is a must to visit when you are in Taichung.

We took the train to get there, and a 20-minute walk from the station. For a more convenient trip, I recommend taking a taxi or renting a bike. Another option for commuters is to take the Fengyuan bus, which provides easier access to the garden. For those driving, there is a large parking area available, and parking is free.
The garden also offers plenty of seating, with benches and tables placed throughout for visitors to rest and enjoy the surroundings. There is a food area where you can grab a meal, as well as vending machines for quick snacks and drinks. Entry to the general garden area is free, but there is a fee to access the designated flower fields zone. If you're looking for a place to go to or looking for a peaceful escape, this garden is a great place to visit.

If you are looking fora a place in Taiwan that closely resembles the Netherlands, Zhongshe Flower Market is probably the best bet. If you are a flower lover planning a trip to Taiwan, you might want to consider Zongshe Flower Market in you itinerary. Situated in the Houli District of Taichung City, Taiwan, the market is easily accessible from Taichung station. Take a train to Tai'an Station, and from there, you have several transportation options: a taxi, renting a bike, or, like us, simply walking 1.7 kilometers to reach the market.
Since the flowers bloom seasonally, it is important to plan your visit according to specific flowers you want to see in full bloom. Be sure to check the timing of you trip to catch the flowers at their peak and experience the vibrant beauty of Zhongshe Flower Market at its best. In our case, we visited Taiwan from late February to early March, so we had the chance to witness Tulips in full bloom.

Place is old and run down
Air con didn't work well.
At 10 plus in the morning, it felt like a sauna. We paid 500 NT each for breakfast but I think McDonald's serve better breakfast.
The restaurant for morning bkft is old and in the 80's.
Wall on the bathroom - cracked tiles but seemed that it is just like that...
We properly won't come back again.
The view for wedding is nice. But rest of the stuff is just run down.
There is no washing machines only located at the main block but we are staying at another smaller building.
There is arcade to milk more money from parents like us...
2 nights was enough for us. Don't expect too much for the country side.
There is only a 30 min or every 1 h buggy ride but no use.. just have to wait... We just walked.
Many facilities close at 5 pm.
They open at 10 am.
But actually in June holidays, I don't see the actual sch children coming here.

8月底來訪西湖渡假村，本來規劃開車前往，前一天車子臨時需要送修，聯絡客服詢問接駁車能不能再預約（原需三天前預約），客服人員和我們確定火車的時間便安排好來回的接駁車，十分親切也十分感謝！
入住的地方是在會館，服務人員親切、房間寬敞乾淨，陽台還可以看見廣場的裝置和園藝景色，非常有氣氛讓人很放鬆！15點入住前可以先寄放行李搭園區接駁車到園區飯店，再慢慢逛回會館（步行大約20多分鐘）不過禮拜三很多地方休息且接駁車也是要提前約哦~
園區用餐有去小舖輕食、湖畔下午茶、會館的早餐和晚餐

雙人下午茶券兌換100元原味鬆餅1份+水果茶（冰/熱）1壺，如果不加點很難有飽足感，鬆餅吃起來鬆軟還不錯~打拋豬飯很香又很辣（不能調整辣度）附的冬瓜茶和涼拌小菜可解辣，好吃但不耐辣真的別輕易嘗試~鴨子們時不時會到座位旁散步，小朋友都很開心🧡
小舖輕食⭐⭐💫
位於彩蝶園旁的小餐廳（裡面有夾娃娃和遊樂區）餐點貴又不好吃感覺很像調理包加熱，蔥爆牛肉飯的牛肉完全咬不動，雞塊薯條好吃，附贈的柳橙汁有一股化學味不推，要吃就吃炸物點心就好~其他感覺雷雷的~
娛樂有很多選擇，小朋友最愛應該是泡泡公園，也可以選擇去湖畔走走和靈山洞體驗，其他地方大部分都是走走看看、拍拍照散散步很悠閒~還有小火車、旋轉木馬、櫻花盪鞦韆可以免費乘坐！
飯店的Spa券我們沒有使用，因為是大眾的泳池，需自備泳衣，對面的氣球城堡也可以順便去玩滑水，但天氣熱真的很折騰~
另外會館的ktv是投幣式的20元一首，很不好用偏老舊，打電話求助櫃檯，但後來還是用到有點生氣就不玩了~
整體真的很喜歡，西湖還有桐花季、螢火蟲季、彩蝶季，平時也有馬戲團的表演活動、晚上燈光秀，其實很玩得簡單但也很豐富，平時工作忙，這裡真的很適合透透氣！彩蝶園真的很多蝴蝶很漂亮，工作人員說6月份會有更多更多，明年想在螢火蟲季的時候再訪呢 ❤️

Very old facility, lack of maintenance, dinner buffet was fine, staffs are nice. European show was the only highlight. No any ride, or even a slide/ playground for kids to play. The only facility we can use after dinner time was the Hot Spring but it was closed..... not worthy of our time and money.

we like this place, cool and fun, lots of play areas for children and families, entrance tickets are also affordable... ample parking, unfortunately when we came here the weather was cloudy and cold and steamy, so many of the steps were wet and slippery... but still fun...🥰
