"Who on earth says Nordic food is good???"
...Okay fine, itโs actually delicious ๐ (Sorry for the clickbait!) Check out what 4 people ate in Norway & Iceland over 8 days for under 4,000 RMB total (less than 1k per person)! Prices below are the total for our orders. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ Reykjavik โ Caruso ๐๐๐๐ Ordered: Lobster ๐ฆ, lamb chops, risotto The lobster was tenderโanother table of Chinese diners highly recommended it. The bread? TOO GOOD. Three dishes were enough for four light eaters. Arrived past 1pm, so it was quiet. ๐ ๐ณ๐ด Lofoten โ Bacalao ๐๐๐ Ordered: Classic fish soup, reindeer burger, mussels Fish soup is their specialty, but itโs made with salted/dried fish (got too salty). Burger and mussels were average. Worth it for the price though! ๐ ๐ณ๐ด Oslo โ Shanghai 2k18 ๐๐๐๐๐ Ordered: Di San Xian (stir-fried trio), Sichuan pepper chicken SORRY NOT SORRYโIโm weak for Chinese food. Almost cried eating rice ๐ after so long. Best Di San Xian ever? Portions were hugeโtwo dishes could feed three. We took leftovers! ๐ ๐ณ๐ด Tromsรธ โ McDonaldโs ๐๐๐ Ordered: 2 combos + convenience store pizza & hot dogs Just here for the "northernmost MCD" badge. Pricier, but portions are bigger. PSA: Skip MCDโacross the street, two giant pizzas + two hot dogs = 80 RMB!!! (No pics, we devoured it.) ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ Reykjavik โ Brauรฐ & Co. cinnamon roll (๐๐๐๐ "Worldโs best cinnamon roll"? Had to try. Freshly baked, crispy outside, perfect spiceโprice similar to Chinaโs artisanal bakeries. (Just too much powdered sugar for me.) Other meals = Airbnb cooking & instant noodles. ๐ ๐ณ๐ด Rema 1000 supermarket Must-try: Yogurt rice pudding (we ate 20+ cups). Salmon tasted "off" to me (maybe used to Japanese sashimi?). Survival tip: Frozen pizza (50 RMB)โjust toss it in the oven. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ Bรณnus Cheaper than Norway! Example: Coke = 20 RMB in Norway vs. 10 RMB here. Pro tip: Bring curry powder from home for easy one-pot meals. Biggest regret: Missing the famous "black pizza" due to crowds. #GlobalEats #NordicFood #Iceland #NorwayTravel #FoodDiary
