[🇫🇷 Battlefield Pilgrimage] Chapter 3: Amiens
Arrived in Amiens on the 17th evening—first impression? "Kinda run-down" (though probably just my hotel area 😅). The city center felt nicer, but still lacked Lille’s polished historical charm. 🎮 Battlefield 1 Recon Mission (FAILED) Rushed to scout locations from the game’s Amiens map: Train tracks? "Meh, doesn’t match the game." Street scenes? Nowhere close—maybe I took wrong turns? 🤷♂️ ⛪ The "Oh My God" Moment While walking toward the cathedral, I spotted a distant tower... "Wait, is that—?" Spoiler: It was Amiens Cathedral, and it BLEW. MY. MIND. Size shock: Felt twice as big as Notre-Dame (because it is France’s largest Gothic church!). No competition: Surrounded by low-rise buildings, it looms like a stone giant. Interior glow-up: Stained glass + vaulted ceilings = 🤯. 📍 Missed but Worth Mentioning 1️⃣ Picardy Museum ("Next time!") 2️⃣ Jules Verne’s House ("Oops") 3️⃣ "Little Venice" (Saint-Leu) 🌈 Quirky bonus: The L’Homme sur sa bouée statue that locals love to dress up! 👔 #Amiens #Battlefield1 #GothicWonders #FranceTravel
