The Fjord Oyster Bank | A Hidden Gem Near Olympic National Park 🦪🌊
After a burnout-filled week, I escaped to a cozy Airbnb cabin by Hood Canal - and discovered this charming little oyster bar just a short drive away. The Fjord Oyster Bank turned out to be the perfect countryside seafood experience, offering a warm, family-run alternative to Seattle's fancier seafood spots. 📍 Location: The Fjord Oyster Bank, near Olympia, WA (Located in the scenic Hood Canal area, close to Olympic National Park) 💫 Oyster Experience (Farm-to-Table Freshness): • Half-dozen raw oysters - A mix of local varieties in different sizes The smallest ones were my personal favorite - sweet and briny with just the right amount of ocean funk The ginger-infused crushed ice? Genius! It elevated the raw oyster experience to new heights • Half-dozen grilled oysters - Larger, non-local variety Perfectly charred with a rich, buttery flavor A bit heavy but satisfying in small doses 🍝 Pasta Perfection: • Prawn and clam linguine Creamy but not overly rich sauce Generous portions of fresh seafood Comfort food at its finest with a homemade touch 🍛 Chicken Curry Surprise: • Level 4 spice (mild for Asian standards) Comforting, home-style flavors Perfect for those who want flavor without too much heat (Spice lovers, go straight for Level 5!) 💰 Value & Atmosphere: • Menu is simple but well-executed • Missed out on the clam chowder (sold out!) but everything we tried was excellent • Not cheap, but reasonable for fresh seafood in a rural setting • Cash-only operation (bring small bills!) 🏡 The Vibe: • Family-run with unmistakable small-town hospitality • Completely different energy from city restaurants • Picture wooden interiors, local artwork, and friendly staff who remember regulars #OlympicPeninsulaEats #SeasideOysters #PacificNorthwest #HiddenGem #WeekendGetaway #SeafoodLovers #CountrysideDining #SeattleWeekendTrips #FjordOysterBankReview #FoodieAdventures
