🧑‍🍳 If I Had to Recommend Just One Southeast Asian Restaurant…

It would definitely be Southeast Impression! They specialize in Malaysian, Singaporean, and Thai cuisine 🫕. Their Hainanese chicken comes with fragrant chicken rice and the essential trio of sauces. The menu is incredibly diverse—curry crab, Thai-style salmon ceviche, bak kut teh (pork rib soup), tom yum, laksa, char kway teow, curry, satay, pineapple fried rice… One visit can satisfy so many cravings!! 🍛🍤🍍 🌟 Hainanese Chicken Rice 💰25 This place has the best Hainanese chicken I’ve tried so far—both the sauce and the chicken quality are top-notch and super authentic! About 3-4 out of 5 times, the chicken is perfectly tender with thin skin, though occasionally it can be a bit dry. I’ve seen many people recommend Wei’s Hainanese chicken, but I think the meat here is much better. Wei’s is cheaper at $13, but I’d rather order other dishes there. 🌟 Thai-Style Salmon Ceviche 💰13 I’m obsessed with this dish! The tangy and spicy Thai-style ceviche sauce is so authentic. The thickness of the salmon slices depends on the chef’s mood, but when you get thick cuts, it’s incredibly satisfying! 🐟🌶️ 🌟 Tom Yum Soup with Jumbo Prawns 💰58 / Regular Shrimp 💰11 The jumbo prawn version is richer and more flavorful, but the regular shrimp is also good. The price difference is quite noticeable, though. 🍤🍲 🌟 Singaporean Curry Crab 💰85 I ordered this a while ago, and the portion was huge! The sauce is very Singaporean-style, and it comes with golden mantou (fried buns) for dipping. 🦀🍞 🌟 Bak Kut Teh (Pork Rib Soup) My Taiwanese friend ordered this, and everyone loved it! The broth is fragrant and packed with ingredients—perfect for warming up in fall and winter. 🍖🍜 🔺 Other Dishes: I can’t list them all, but almost everything I’ve tried here is great! It’s a favorite among friends and colleagues. 👍 The Thai iced tea is also solid, though the mango sticky rice is a tad too sweet. In terms of authenticity and value, it definitely holds its own against DC’s popular网红 spots. 📍 Southeast Impression 🅿️ Parking: Tons of spots next door at Giant. Avoid parking at Dunkin’—there’s a risk of getting towed! 🚗⚠️ #SavorTheFlavors #WeekendVibes #FallWinterFoodie #DMVfood #WashingtonDC #DCfoodie #DMVeats
