【Dining Journal】 DMV Coastal Flats🍽️🌊🎉

🌟As a restaurant that’s quite close to home and seemingly popular with Americans, it’s surprising we’ve never eaten here. After visiting Great Fall and struggling to find something appealing nearby, we decided to head back near home and try Coastal Flats. It was a rare occasion with a big group, and we ordered a lot, so I’d like to introduce each dish one by one. 🌟Ozzie Roll, the “small bread” that’s refilled for free. We refilled it twice and even had them pack an extra portion for us to take home. 🌟Lobster Bisque, the classic American lobster soup. This one was quite to our taste—neither too salty nor too heavy, just delicious. Crispy Sweet & Spicy Point Judith Calamari, as the name suggests, it’s sweet and spicy, quite appetizing. 🌟Main course number one, Fish Finger. Fried cod fries, pretty standard, with a thin coating, not bad at all. Main course number two, Sauteed Shrimp & Creamy Grit Cake, we found this super delicious! The sauce was creamy and went perfectly with the rice and shrimp. Highly recommend this dish! If I come back, I’ll definitely order it again. 🌟Main course number three, Lobster Salad, called a lobster salad but we felt the lobster didn’t add much. The salad and sauce were good, but the lobster didn’t create any special flavor magic; chicken might have had the same effect. Overall, the taste was nice, but the price for a salad felt a bit steep. 🌟Sweet Potato Fries. We ordered three cocktails: Mojito, Martini, and Sangria. All three cocktails were very weak, seemed like they didn’t add much alcohol. It tasted more like juice to me. 🌟Overall, I have a good impression of this place. I was quite satisfied with the meal that night. As an American restaurant, it didn’t have any major letdowns, which is nice, but the cocktails were too weak. We went to the one in Fairfax, the store’s decor in the small plaza is quite nice.
