Maroon Bells – A Million-Dollar Autumn View 🍂📅 10/01/2025
Last fall, I came across photos of Maroon Bells from a travel blogger and was completely mesmerized. After browsing through tons of websites, reading past guides and real-time updates, I finally decided to visit on October 1, 2025—hoping to catch the peak colors! And the moment I arrived—it was even more stunning than any photo. We were lucky enough to witness this year’s peak foliage! I wanted to document this memory and hopefully help future travelers who, like me, fall in love with this place at first sight. 💫 I studied peak foliage data from past years—most years, more than half of the leaves turn yellow around September 20, and by October 5, about half have already fallen. That’s why I settled on October 1. Of course, weather plays a big role—if there’s heavy rain before your trip, the leaves may fall early. Grateful that this year, the weather was mostly sunny or cloudy before our arrival! ☀️☁️ Book your tickets early! If you plan to drive, parking passes are extremely hard to get, and you can only enter before 8 AM or after 5 PM. Since we were traveling with a baby and didn’t want to go too early in the cold, we bought shuttle tickets for 8:30 AM. A little side story: Our hotel was only 30 minutes away, but we hit morning traffic and didn’t arrive exactly at 8:30. No worries—just go to the standby line, and you can still board. We ended up taking the 8:45 AM shuttle. 💡 Pro tip: Sit on the left side on the way in, and on the right side on the way back for the best views! The Maroon Bells parking lot/shuttle stop is the only place with restrooms. If you plan to hike the trail (which takes about 3–4 hours), make sure to use the facilities beforehand! 🚻 The main trail in the center is the shortest and easiest to access. It’s not a loop—you’ll need to return the same way. If you walk quickly, it takes about 30 minutes round-trip, with stunning views all along. Perfect for those with kids or who prefer an easy walk! 👨👩👧 If you’re lucky, you might spot deer, foxes, chipmunks, moose, or even fish in the river along the way! 🦌🐿️🎣 If you have any other questions, feel free to leave them in the comments—I’ll do my best to answer! Hope everyone gets to enjoy Colorado’s breathtaking autumn views! 🧡 Maroon Bells Co Rd 13, Aspen, CO 81611 Have you been to Maroon Bells during the fall? What was your experience like?
