【Washington | Food】 DC’s Hottest Peruvian Cuisine

📍: Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar 💲 Average per person: $45 🐙 Plancha Pulpo (Grilled Octopus) 💲23 Many people ordered this dish—it seems to be a restaurant favorite. Two large octopus legs, first seared then grilled, served with giant corn kernels and potato balls. The octopus is chewy without any fishy taste. Be careful when it’s served—the sizzling oil from the hot plate splatters everywhere! 🔥 🥘 Arroz con Mariscos (Seafood Rice) 💲26 The portion is huge, with mussels, squid, and fresh shrimp. The rice has a tangy flavor, and the seafood is fresh, but overall, it’s a bit underwhelming. 🦐🍚 🍗 Anticucho de Pollo (Grilled Chicken) 💲13 The flavor is reminiscent of Chinese cuisine—savory, saucy chicken chunks that are tender and juicy. It’s served with a spicy-sour sauce that adds an exotic twist. 🍗🌶️ 🍷 Spiced Old Fashioned 💲9 Every place makes their Old Fashioned differently, so I won’t comment much on this one. 🥃 🍸 Costa Verde Chilcano 💲9 Sweet and sour with almost no alcohol taste—it’s like a lemonade drink. 🍋 This is supposedly DC’s most popular Peruvian restaurant. Even on a weekday at 7 PM, the place was packed with families and couples. Overall, I found the food decent but not outstanding—what stands out is the Peruvian flair. The service was excellent, though, so it’s worth a try. They also seem to have a happy hour in the evening with discounts on some drinks. 🍹 #PeruvianCuisine #WashingtonDC #DCfoodie #AmericanFood
