🏖️ Galveston: A Seaside Town Near Houston
The sea in Texas has always had a… reputation 😅, so my expectations were pretty low. But compared to photos I took here 10 years ago—maybe thanks to my Huawei phone or the weather—it actually exceeded my expectations! 📸✨ 🏰 First stop: Bishop's Palace. Entry was $15, but since I’m not super into bishops, I skipped going inside. 🌳 The historical district was quite nice though—perfect for a relaxed stroll and some photos 📸. We had lunch in the area at a Thai restaurant called The Garden (rated 4.7 on Google 🌟). Definitely did not disappoint! 🌊 Later in the afternoon when it cooled down a bit, we hit the beach. Let’s be real—it’s “decent for Texas” 🤣. The water isn’t very clean (kinda like northern beaches in China), so swimming wasn’t really an option. But I did snap a pic with my 34-week baby bump on the firm sand! 👶💕 ⛴️ The highlight was actually the FREE ferry! You can drive your car right onto it 🚗. Once the ferry sets off, you can get out and walk around on the deck—which was pretty much taken over by seagulls 😆. We even got lucky and spotted dolphins! 🐬 📌 Final thoughts: If you keep expectations low and go on a sunny day, it’s a nice little getaway. Not comparable to prettier coasts, but perfect for a casual day trip 🌞. #HoustonBeach #GalvestonTX #TexasTravel #SeasideVibes #LowExpectationsHighVibes 😎🌴
