🌶️ Ichiban Sichuan – Spicy & Savory Chinese in Madison!
Tried another Chinese restaurant – and with a big group, we got to order almost the whole menu! 🥢😄 Here’s the rundown: 🍖 Hand-Held Ribs (Spicy) Tasty seasoning, but so dry – like jerky with flair. Flavor = 👍, texture = 😬 🍗 Three Cup Chicken Sweet and sticky (I’m from Fujian – I can handle it!). Skin was crispy… maybe too crispy – first piece scratched my throat 😅 Still decent though! 🥬 Stir-Fried Pea Shoots Delicious! Approved by my friends from Sichuan + Chongqing + Chengdu! ✅ 🥔 Hot & Sour Potato Shreds Really sour and really spicy – no joke! 🌶️😝 🐂 Spicy Beef Strips So tender, so flavorful – but damn spicy! Why do Madison restaurants nail beef so well? 🤤 🍺 Beer Duck Well-cooked duck, but not very flavorful… Miss the beer duck from that one place in Duluth 😢 🐟 Tofu Fish Stew Super soft tofu and tender fish – but bland except for a light spicy surface kick. A fun feast with highs and lows – worth a try if you’re craving Sichuan vibes!
