๐บ๐ธ Madison Food Exploration ๐๐ฅ
Clearing my gallery~ So many calories consumedโฆ gotta share the food journey! Madison actually has quite a few tasty spots โ might organize a full list someday! ๐ Taste of Sichuan Probably the most famous Sichuan restaurant in Madison ๐ฅข. Been multiple times โ always order the Coupleโs Pleasure (beef tripe and tendon) and Stir-Fried Pork with Peppers ๐ถ๏ธ. The pigโs trotters are chewy and satisfying, but the stir-fried pork kidney was too gamey โ do NOT recommend ๐ฌ. ๐ Fugu Another Sichuan spot. Went a few times but personally prefer Taste of Sichuan. Tried the Mao Xue Wang and Water-Boiled Beef โ looked authentic but tasted almost identical, like they came from the same pot ๐ฒ. ๐ Double 10 This place serves both Northeastern Chinese dishes AND mini hotpot! Their Guo Bao Rou is Liaoning-style (tomato-based) ๐ , and the Braised Pork Bones are super authentic โ highly recommend! ๐ ๐ Hutong Their lamb skewers are pretty good but a bit pricey ๐ข. We argued through the whole meal though, so I have zero memory of any other flavorsโฆ just pure sadness ๐ข. Still took photos mid-fight โ dedication, right? ๐ธ ๐ Hotpot 608 All-you-can-eat hotpot. The ingredients were just okay. The only standout was the braised pigโs trotters โ I devoured FOUR and had no room left for hotpot ๐ท๐. ๐ Nani Cantonese dim sum spot. Their cheung fun comes in a weird cylindrical shape โ avoid it ๐ซ. Dry-Fried Beef Ho Fun was decent, and they have durian crepes โ but I donโt eat durian ๐ . ๐ Dagu Rice Noodle HUGE disappointment ๐ต. The beef rolls tasted like theyโd been frozen for a thousand years โ tough, thick, and impossible to chewโฆ The only fun part was DIY cooking the noodles. Popcorn chicken was okay though. ๐ QQ Express Cheap, generous portions of American Chinese food ๐ฅก. Iโm weirdly obsessed with their peanut butter chicken โ someone save my taste buds ๐๐ฅ. ๐ Global Market Food Court Got malatang (spicy numbing soup) inside the Asian supermarket ๐๐ถ๏ธ. Great market for Asian groceries โ highly recommend, though itโs a bit far from downtown. #100RestaurantsChallenge #UWMadison #ChineseFood #MadisonEats #FoodReview #SichuanCuisine #AsianFoodMadison ๐ฅข๐ฅ๐ธ
