🇺🇸 Madison Food Exploration 🍜🔥

Clearing my gallery~ So many calories consumed… gotta share the food journey! Madison actually has quite a few tasty spots — might organize a full list someday! 📍 Taste of Sichuan Probably the most famous Sichuan restaurant in Madison 🥢. Been multiple times — always order the Couple’s Pleasure (beef tripe and tendon) and Stir-Fried Pork with Peppers 🌶️. The pig’s trotters are chewy and satisfying, but the stir-fried pork kidney was too gamey — do NOT recommend 😬. 📍 Fugu Another Sichuan spot. Went a few times but personally prefer Taste of Sichuan. Tried the Mao Xue Wang and Water-Boiled Beef — looked authentic but tasted almost identical, like they came from the same pot 🍲. 📍 Double 10 This place serves both Northeastern Chinese dishes AND mini hotpot! Their Guo Bao Rou is Liaoning-style (tomato-based) 🍅, and the Braised Pork Bones are super authentic — highly recommend! 👍 📍 Hutong Their lamb skewers are pretty good but a bit pricey 🍢. We argued through the whole meal though, so I have zero memory of any other flavors… just pure sadness 😢. Still took photos mid-fight — dedication, right? 📸 📍 Hotpot 608 All-you-can-eat hotpot. The ingredients were just okay. The only standout was the braised pig’s trotters — I devoured FOUR and had no room left for hotpot 🐷💀. 📍 Nani Cantonese dim sum spot. Their cheung fun comes in a weird cylindrical shape — avoid it 🚫. Dry-Fried Beef Ho Fun was decent, and they have durian crepes — but I don’t eat durian 😅. 📍 Dagu Rice Noodle HUGE disappointment 😵. The beef rolls tasted like they’d been frozen for a thousand years — tough, thick, and impossible to chew… The only fun part was DIY cooking the noodles. Popcorn chicken was okay though. 📍 QQ Express Cheap, generous portions of American Chinese food 🥡. I’m weirdly obsessed with their peanut butter chicken — someone save my taste buds 😂🥜. 📍 Global Market Food Court Got malatang (spicy numbing soup) inside the Asian supermarket 🛒🌶️.
