🌶️ Irvine | Authentic Sichuan Cold Noodles, Zhong Dumplings
Who would’ve thought that an unassuming plaza hides such legit Sichuan snacks?! Hands down – this is the best Zhong Shui Jiao (Sichuan red oil dumplings) I’ve had in LA so far! 🥟 Zhong Shui Jiao (Red Oil Dumplings) The wrappers are freshly made – chewy and tender 👌 The red oil seasoning is spot-on – aromatic, savory, with a hint of sweetness. The flat shape soaks up all that delicious sauce. One order is just not enough! 🍜 Sichuan Cold Noodles The noodles are springy and coated in a well-balanced sauce – spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet. The bean sprouts and cucumber add a refreshing crunch. 🐸 Frog Hot Pot A huge portion with authentic Sichuan flavors! Loaded with lotus root, potato, wood ear mushrooms, and tofu that absorbs all the delicious broth. The frog is tender, and the spice level is mild but flavorful. It’s kept warm over a gentle flame – perfect for sharing! 🥔 Sweet & Sour Spicy Potato Crispy on the outside, soft inside – tossed in a tangy plum-infused sweet and sour sauce. Topped with aromatic chili flakes (not too spicy!) – so well-balanced. 🍵 Osmanthus Longjing Tofu Pudding Silky and smooth like pudding – melts in your mouth. The Longjing tea flavor blends beautifully with the tofu, and the osmanthus honey drizzle is simply divine 💚 👨💻 By a data scientist who’s been in the U.S. for 10 years and loves sharing hidden food gems in LA and the Bay Area.
