I work close to hear and love coming here for lunch or a nights outing.

For lunch: Daikokuya is the best ramen here.

Kagura is great for 2 or 3 item sets with miso soup and salad included.

ToT is great for a variety of items, you can choose from a lot there.

Fuga is hands down the best place for lunch and dinner, but pricy sonexpect to pay $20 with tip for lunch and $30 for dinner, not including drinks.

Night life: Tokyo Beat is on the second story of the plaza, good for late night snacks and karaoke although expect to wait a long time for your song (they play favorites with their regulars).

Wolf and Crane is a really cool spot for Japanes Whiskeys, some good beers, and dim lit ambiance

Spitz has really good deals on Mediterranean food and awesome beers!

These pics are from my lunch break and I tried to capture moments that did not have a ton of people, but it gets crowded there.

One star off for the lack of security. There is usually one guy around but feel they need more of a presence sense the place covered a lot of ground. Be aware there ate a lot of homeless in the area. 99% chance they will only ask you for a dollar and move on their way, but you need to always use...

Nice place, Japanese Village Plaza is a delightful spot that transports you straight into the heart of Japanese culture, right in the middle of Los Angeles! Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a relaxing stroll, this plaza offers an array of authentic experiences. From its fantastic selection of Japanese restaurants to charming bakeries serving traditional desserts, it's a paradise for those craving sushi or delicious Japanese sweets.

The variety of shops is impressive too offering everything from groceries to unique cultural items that capture the essence of Japan. You can easily spend anywhere from an hour to five here, savoring the flavors or simply wandering along the charming walkways.

One thing to note is that the surrounding area could use some attention as it has seen some wear, and it might feel a bit less safe at times. However, with nearby parking options, you can easily park and stroll straight into the village, which remains vibrant and welcoming.

All in all, it’s a must visit if you want a taste of Japan without leaving LA. Whether you're craving a sushi feast or just a quiet afternoon soaking in...
