๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ 4-Day Winter Tasmania Guide (With Aurora Sighting!) ๐ŸŒŒโ„๏ธ

Flew from Sydney โœˆ๏ธ to Hobart (2 hours โ€“ note: carry-on luggage is weighed, so pack light! โš ๏ธ). Stayed near Sandy Bay โ€“ very convenient with two major supermarkets nearby. Since attractions are far apart and self-driving felt risky in winter, I joined a group tour. Luckily, the group was young and fun โ€“ mostly uni students! The 4-day schedule was packed but not tiring. Winter days are short in Tassie โ€“ I wish I couldโ€™ve stayed longer. Already missing it! ๐Ÿฅน ๐Ÿ“ Day 1: Port Arthur โœ”๏ธ My friends spotted whales! The ocean was breathtakingly blue ๐Ÿ‹ (I skipped the cruise due to seasickness but was super jealous!) โœ”๏ธ The prison ruins were hauntingly beautiful โ€“ gloomy yet romantic. โœ”๏ธ Visited Tessellated Pavement at dusk โ€“ the golden sunset over the sea looked like a painting! ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ Day 2: Maria Island + Salamanca Market โœ”๏ธ Salamanca Market (Saturday only!): Got there late but still enjoyed handmade crafts, silverware, and vintage items. Bought honey, scallop skewers, and coffee! โ˜• โœ”๏ธ Took a ferry to Maria Island โ€“ very pristine. Note: no bins on the island โ€“ take your trash with you! ๐Ÿšฏ โœ”๏ธ Hiked 45 mins to Painted Cliffs & Fossil Rocks. Met 3-4 wombats munching grass โ€“ so cute! ๐Ÿฆฅ Remember: donโ€™t approach or touch them. ๐Ÿ“ Day 3: Mount Wellington + Richmond Town โœ”๏ธ Mount Wellington: Perfect weather โ€“ blue skies, white clouds โ˜๏ธ. Our guide was great at taking photos! Even caught a rare sea of clouds โ€“ so lucky! ๐Ÿ“ธ โœ”๏ธ Richmond: A small historic town with a bridge from 1823. Tried scallop pie and famous honey cake โ€“ delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹. The woodcarving grandpaโ€™s shop is right across the cake store. ๐Ÿ“ Day 4: Bruny Island โœ”๏ธ The Neck Lookout: Great photo spot (but crowded!) โœ”๏ธ Get Shucked Oyster Farm: Must-try fresh oysters! ๐Ÿฆช โœ”๏ธ Honey Factory: Small shop with great honey and ice cream โ€“ but skip the Tassie-shaped biscuit ๐Ÿฏ โœ”๏ธ Saw white wallabies and baby kangaroos โ€“ the white ones look like giant cute rats ๐Ÿ˜‚ โœจ And on our last nightโ€ฆ WE SAW THE AURORA! ๐ŸŒŒ ๐Ÿ“ Location: Taroona Beach Even with low activity, it was visible to the naked eye โ€“ and phones/cameras captured it clearly! Iโ€™m beyond happy ๐Ÿฅน. Chasing aurora at the โ€œend of the worldโ€ felt like Tasmaniaโ€™s final gift to us ๐Ÿ˜ญ. We expected rain or clouds, but every day was sunny โ€“ truly blessed. Iโ€™ve completely fallen in love with Hobart! ๐Ÿค #Hobart #Tasmania #TasmaniaTravel #AustraliaTravel #HiddenGems #AuroraChasing #WinterTravel #SeasideInWinter #NorthernLights
