🇦🇺 Finally Tried M9 Wagyu in Australia!!

📍 The Meat & Wine Co Nestled in Canberra’s city center, the area is lined with high-rises with floor-to-ceiling windows and upscale restaurants—giving off a vibe similar to a bustling business district, a bit out of place with Canberra’s earthy, laid-back charm... I’d call this area: the Pearl of the East in the middle of farmland 🌆. 🍃 Ambiance & Atmosphere: Modern yet elegant! During the day, tall floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light 🌞 (though I can imagine it’s even more charming at night, perfect for dates 🌙). The wall and ceiling designs are uniquely stylish, blending contemporary flair with industrial chic. Tables and seats are arranged thoughtfully, not in rigid rows, offering plenty of privacy—ideal for business dinners or intimate gatherings ✨. 🍽️ Dishes: Mayura Station Signature New Yorker (600g, M9+): At 240 AUD for 600g, this is the restaurant’s recommended signature. The beef is grain-fed for 450 days, with incredibly even marbling that melts like butter. The texture is tender and rich, with a luxurious mouthfeel. If you love rich, buttery flavors, this is a standout choice—each bite is a celebration of premium wagyu craftsmanship 🥩. Baked Scallops: 29 AUD This dish was my absolute favorite of the meal! The scallops are fresh and plump, lightly baked to retain their natural sweetness 🦪. The garlic shavings and crispy onions on top add wonderful texture, while the sauce is perfectly balanced—never overpowering, letting the scallops’ freshness shine through. Simply delightful! Portuguese Chicken Skewers: 55 AUD I noticed a well-dressed diner next to us ordering this, and I just had to try it! The chicken is skewered on a long metal rod, vertically displayed on the plate—such a creative presentation 🍢. Marinated to perfection, the outer layer is slightly charred, while the inside stays juicy and tender. A squeeze of lemon cuts through the richness beautifully, and the golden, crispy fries on the side complement the dish perfectly 🍟. Tip: We visited on a weekday around noon without a reservation initially. The staff kindly advised that reservations are recommended for a smoother experience, and after confirming a booking for 2 PM, everything went seamlessly! While walk-ins are possible, booking ahead ensures you won’t miss out—our service was attentive once seated 😊. Overall Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #CanberraFood #AustraliaEats #AustralianWagyu #FoodieAdventures #CanberraDining
