A 3-Day, 2-Night Self-Drive Guide to Ottawa ๐จ๐ฆ๐
Day 1 Depart from Toronto at 9 a.m. and arrive in Ottawa in four and a half hours. Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum ๐๏ธ๐ Tickets are $22 per person, and Canoo is accepted. ๐ธThis museum was originally Canada's underground nuclear bunker and air defense facility. Perfect for those interested in military or history! Day 2 Parc Omega ๐ฆ๐ Tickets are $45 per person, with a 25% discount currently available. ๐ธThis wildlife park is an absolute must-visit!!! Best of the trip!!! It's a 50-minute drive from downtown Ottawa.๐๐คฉ Make sure to prepare carrots in advance; you can feed the deer right from your car! As soon as you enter, there will be plenty of deer trying to stick their heads into your car for carrots. ๐ธThey're super friendlyโyou can feed them and even pet their heads. Along the way, you might also spot wild boars, bison, foxes, and bears. But remember, only the deer can be fed. Before leaving, we even saw a black bear scratching itself and a brown bear climbing a tree! National Gallery of Canada ๐ผ๏ธ๐จ Tickets are $20 per person, and Canoo is accepted. The giant spider sculpture at the entrance is very famous! Byward Market ๐๏ธ๐ธ Byward Market is home to the famous "Ottawa" sign and traditional Canadian snacks like BeaverTails. It looks great in photos at night! We also tried the delicious French pastries at Elina Patisserie this time. Highly recommend taking a break there if you're tired from shopping. Day 3 Canadian Museum of Nature ๐ฆ๐ฟ Canoo is accepted. This is the most recommended museum! It has fossils and specimens of various animals from land, sea, and air. Suitable for both adults and kids! Parliament Hill ๐๏ธ๐ฝ There are guided tours of the Senate and the House of Commons. They're free but require advance booking. We booked the House of Commons tour, which lasted 40 minutes. Afterward, you can take photos at Parliament Hill. ๐๐ On a sunny day, with the many Gothic buildings around, it's very photogenic! Return to Toronto around 3 p.m. and arrive by 8 p.m. Food Recommendations ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ Cocotte bistro: A French restaurant where you'll leave feeling stuffed. I'll write a separate post about it. The Beef Tartar is deliciousโdefinitely order it! Liugong Grilled Fish: It doesn't seem to be the same as the one in Toronto. The Liugong Grilled Fish in Toronto is underwhelming, but the one we had in Ottawa was very flavorful, and the dishes went perfectly with rice. If you're craving Sichuan or Hunan flavors, go for it! Queensway Cafรฉ: A Cantonese-style cafรฉ located in Ottawa's Chinatown. ๐๐ We ordered the spicy chicken rice and the baked macaroni with cheese, both of which were super delicious and on par with those in Toronto. Shanghai Wonton Noodle House: An affordable and generous wonton restaurant. #Toronto #Ottawa #SelfDriveTourFromToronto ๐๐
