🇨🇦 Who Says Ottawa Is Boring? Three Days Were Not Enough!

When traveling to Canada, most people choose Banff, Niagara, or Algonquin, often overlooking Ottawa as just a stop along the way. But after spending three days there during Christmas, I can say it’s impossible to fully experience it in such a short time! From city walks and museums to hotels, food, and photography — Ottawa is full of highlights. Although Canada may not have an extremely long history, this city offers a nostalgic journey back to the 19th and early 20th centuries. And the Cold War bunker escape room? Absolutely mind-blowing! 🕵️‍♂️💥 💗 Starting from Toronto, the route passes through two of Canada’s historic capitals, connected by the Rideau Canal — linking not only places but also the past and present: Kingston and Ottawa. Extend the trip further to include Montreal and Quebec City for an even richer experience! 💗 Fairmont Château Laurier: This century-old iconic castle hotel 🏰, opened in 1912, is not only part of Ottawa’s skyline but also home to a bar displaying works by Yousuf Karsh, the master portrait photographer of the 20th century. 💗 Escape Room in a Real Cold War Bunker: The highlight of the trip! Set in an actual nuclear bunker from the Cold War era, this escape room places you in a simulated temporary shelter of the Canadian government. The puzzles themselves may not be the hardest in the world, but the setting is truly one-of-a-kind. 🚀🔒 💗 A World of Museums: Ottawa truly shines as a capital city when it comes to museums. Winter is the perfect season for indoor activities. Even three days weren’t enough to explore all the national museums — we had to pick just a few that interested us the most. 🖼️📚 💗 Who Says Ottawa Is a Food Desert? In just three days, we enjoyed Spanish tapas, French cuisine, Korean casual dining, Japanese ramen, and BBQ — not a single mediocre meal! 🍴🇪🇸🇫🇷🇰🇷🇯🇵 📅 Itinerary: D1 – Kingston AM: Toronto → Kingston PM: Queen’s University campus stroll ✨, Kingston antique shops Dinner: Tango Nuevo (Spanish tapas) 🥘 D2 – Ottawa AM: Kingston → Ottawa PM: Canadian War Museum, National Holocaust Monument Lunch: Maroo (Korean) 🍚 Dinner: Gyubee (Japanese BBQ) 🥩 D3 – Ottawa AM: National Gallery of Canada 🖼️ PM: Diefenbunker Cold War Museum + Bunker Escape Room Lunch: Kinton Ramen 🍜 Dinner: Gitanes (French) 🍷 D4 – Ottawa AM: Parliament: The Immersive Experience 🎭, Parliament Hill exterior tour PM: Ottawa → Toronto #CanadaTravel #OttawaTourism #DayTrip #Ottawa ✨🇨🇦
