🇨🇦 Ottawa Dining Review|Friday Night in Complete Darkness 🕶️

🍷 Dark Fork Ottawa 25 George St, Ottawa, ON K1N 6Z6 A unique pitch-black dining experience guided by visually impaired servers. “For two hours on a Friday night, I was completely blind.” Went with a group of friends to try this one-of-a-kind restaurant 👥. The menu is simple: one appetizer, five main courses, and one dessert (oops — I mistranslated it in the photo 😅). You order at the front desk upon arrival — choose between 2 or 3 courses. Phones are not allowed 📵; bags, coats, and phones can be stored in locked lockers. Then, a visually impaired server guides guests — “choo-choo train style” (hands on each other’s shoulders) — into the completely dark dining room. Yes, the servers are truly blind — I got bumped into right after entering (in the lit area 😂). Inside, it’s nearly total darkness — except for a faint emergency exit sign (safety first! 🚨). In the blackout environment, your senses of smell and touch are heightened. You’ll be fumbling for your water glass, cutlery, your friend’s arm, or even the server’s hand. I even got slapped in the face by my tea bag on the last sip 🫖💥 — a truly unique experience! 🍗 About the Food: Appetizer: A refreshing veggie salad with lemon and cumin — very sensory-stimulating 🥗. Main Course: I had the steak + fries — generous portion but average quality, poorly cooked, not hot enough. The black pepper sauce reminded me of cheap chain steakhouse vibes. Not recommended ❌. Surprise Dish: Tried my friend’s — can’t reveal what it is, but it was tasty meat with great seasoning! 🤫🔥 Pasta: Described as flavorful and aromatic, but fully vegetarian 🍝. Fish: Pan-seared salmon — crispy skin, no sauce, served with plenty of veggies 🐟. Dessert: A decent-sized chocolate mousse cake with sponge base — slightly sweet but acceptable, though a bit heavy toward the end 🍰. Next time I’d order the surprise dish or the fish! Price: $50–60 per person (no alcohol, but they have a wine list). Fun concept, okay food — might bring new friends here. Go with a group so you can steal food from each other’s plates… and starve them out 😈. #StudentLife #FoodAdventure #NorthAmericanEats #OttawaDining #CanadianLife #DarkDining #UniqueExperience
