🇦🇺 TAS | Hobart: A Solo Journey to the Edge of the World 🌍✈️

Arrived in Hobart around 16:30 – the sun was still up! ☀️ I quickly checked into the hostel, gave my phone a quick charge, and rushed straight to the waterfront ⚓. Just 5 minutes from the port, this area is full of eateries, home to the famous Tasmanian ice cream spot 🍦, and also the meeting point for ferries to Maria Island. I wanted to scout it out at dusk – and oh, the harbour looked so charming! 🍦 Finally tried the renowned Van Diemens Land Creamery! First day: Lavender + Boysenberry – so good! Next day, after returning from Maria Island, I went back for another scoop – Pepperberry & Leatherwood. Loved its woody, aromatic flavour (kinda like being marinated in a leathery perfume vibe 😂). 🚶 Explored the city on foot – stumbled upon “The Drunken Admiral” 🏴‍☠️ (apparently a must-see?), and also checked out outdoor stores like Find your feet, Patagonia, and others. 🎒 🍚 The downside of traveling alone? Can’t try as many foods! 😢 1️⃣ Day 1: Was too tired and hungry to hunt down recommended places, so I grabbed salty comfort food at Jungle Restaurant – beef with eggplant and rice. Not bad! 2️⃣ Day 2: After a long day hiking Maria Island, I headed to Mures for fish & chips 🐟🍟 and seafood chowder. Wanted oysters too… but couldn’t finish it all alone! The chowder was loaded and delicious though 😋 3️⃣ Day 3: Visited Mt. Wellington and Richmond, back late. Ended up at Casa De Amor Mexican Bar and Kitchen – surprisingly tasty! 🌮 4️⃣ Day 4: Saturday = Salamanca Market! 🎪 Perfect for solo foodies – small bites, lots of variety. My biggest regret? Not seeing Hobart from the top of Mt.
