Last Christmas, thanks to a two-week company break, I made a last-minute decision to take my parents on a spontaneous trip. Since it was their first time traveling far with me, I prepared a super detailed itinerary to ensure everything went smoothly β including attractions, accommodations, timing, and even food and drink stops along the way! πβ Day 1: First Glimpse of Hobart π« We took an early flight from Brisbane to Hobart and picked up our rental car smoothly at the airport. First stop: Mount Wellington β°οΈ. Although it was foggy with low visibility, the fresh air at the summit was invigorating β totally worth the trip! Day 2: Bruny Island π¦ͺ Set off early to catch the ferry! The oyster farm opens at 9:30 AM β we arrived right on time, beat the crowd, and enjoyed incredibly fresh and plump oysters. The view at The Neck is breathtaking β every photo looks like a postcard ποΈ. Lunch was a bit crowded (waited an hour), but the food did not disappoint. Dinner was the highlight β highly recommended! Every dish on the menu amazed us. A perfect end to the day! π Day 3: Cherry Picking π Β· Port Arthur Cherry picking was the absolute highlight of the trip! The cherries were huge and sweet β I almost wished we could stay forever. Port Arthur was stunning β clean, beautiful, and architect impressive. Itβs worth taking your time here. Our seaside Airbnb that night was quiet and cozy, saving us driving time the next day. Day 4: Honeymoon Bay Β· Wineglass Bay Donβt miss Honeymoon Bay β the water is unbelievably blue π. We were blessed with gorgeous weather, making the scenery even more magical. Wineglass Bay offers several hiking trails β wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water! ππ§ Day 5: Lavender Estate This lavender farm is a must-visit! πΈβ¨ The best photo spots are further back β every shot is Instagram-worthy. The cable car ride was cool and breezy π‘, offering a stunning aerial view of the estate. We were even lucky enough to see a peacock spreading its feathers π¦ β an unforgettable experience! Day 6: Salamanca Market Β· Heading Home We scheduled our return flight on a Saturday morning so we could explore Salamanca Market. Full of handmade crafts, decorations, and food stalls β itβs the perfect place to grab a snack and stroll around. A relaxed and joyful end to our trip! ποΈπ Tips: Bring a warm jacket! π§₯ Tasmania has big temperature swings between day and night β especially on Mount Wellington. It gets really cold! Overall, the trip went smoothly. Even though we had some cloudy days, the rain never interrupted us.
