🇨🇦 7 Spots in Ottawa in One Day｜

🚌🌊 Amphibious Bus: Ottawa City Tour by Land and Water I was super excited for this tour (see image 2), but it got cancelled last minute… big disappointment 😤! Departure times: 10:30 / 12:00 / 13:30 / 15:00 / 16:30 (approx. 1 hour), $44.97 per person. Even though I missed it, I’d still recommend trying it — I definitely will next time! 📍 44 Sparks St 🌷 Tulip Festival So many varieties of tulips! Black, light pink, magenta, red, orange, purple, gradient, even fringed petals 💐. Perfect for couples, dog walks, or family outings. There’s food, drinks, and activities (lemonade, hot dogs, face painting, etc.). Very photogenic! 📍 Commissioner Park 🍛 Overhyped Thai Food: Khao Thai Not. Good. At. All. ❌ Lots of people call it “the best Thai in Ottawa,” but Toronto has way better options. I ordered the Bangkok Street Food — looked amazing but tasted awful: overly sweet, sour, and weirdly funky 🫢. I like spicy and sour, but the sweetness and odd smell were too much. Only the seafood fried rice was okay. 📍 Khao Thai Restaurant ⛪ 19th-Century Cathedral: Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica I haven’t been to Montreal’s cathedral yet, but this one is gorgeous! Amazing architecture and design ✨. 📍 Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica 🖼️ National Gallery of Canada Didn’t go in — was on a tight “speed-tour” schedule 🏃💨 — but took a photo with the giant spider sculpture 🕷️📸. If you have time, go inside! I’ve seen great photos from others — they even have Van Gogh’s works. Adults $20, student/family discounts, kids free. 📍 National Gallery of Canada 🌆 Parliament Hill at Sunset Great view overlooking Quebec — right at the Ontario-Quebec border separated by the river 🌅. There’s also the Centennial Flame burning on the water. 📍 111 Wellington St 🧋 Sip Tea Bubble Tea Really good bubble tea! Tried matcha and cake milk tea — both unique and delicious 🍵🍰.
