🇨🇦 A Day Trip to Burlington
🌟 Route map in 🚆 Getting There: Took the GO Train from Union Station → Burlington GO (~1 hour). Bus 2S (Platform 7) to John Street Terminal (watch Google Maps—the display was broken! 😅). Return trip: Bus 2N from John Street Terminal → Fairview at De Pauls Lane stop → short walk back to the station. 📍 Stops & Highlights: 1️⃣ Waterfront Hotel Burlington 🏨 Booked a room with partial lake views (but TBH, you don’t need to stay overnight—it’s a tiny town!). ⚠️ Warning: Paper-thin walls—heard every door slam and conversation! 2️⃣ RC’s Boardwalk Fries & Ice Cream Parlour 🍫🍦 Supreme funnel cake (chocolate brownie flavor + fudge sauce!) with huge chunks of brownie inside. Portion = massive (enough for 2–3 people!). 3️⃣ 🌈 Rainbow Crosswalk → 4️⃣ Spencer Smith Park 🦢 Spotted squadrons of Canadian geese (some marching in line, others swimming—so funny!). 5️⃣ The Art Gallery of Burlington 🖼️ Free entry! Loved the ceramic art + bought a floral-scented candle (packaging was adorable!). 6️⃣ The Sunshine Doughnut Co. 🍋🍩 "Lemony Lemon" doughnut (less sweet, fluffy like brioche—perfect!). 7️⃣ Village Square 📸 Instagrammable spot! Cozy restaurants for dinner. 8️⃣ Brant Street Pier 🌅 Sunset by the lake = MAGIC. Breezy, peaceful, and stupidly pretty. 💡 Final Thoughts: Burlington is tiny but delightful—ideal for a half-day escape from Toronto! Eat, stroll, and geese-watch to your heart’s content. #TorontoDayTrips #BurlingtonOntario #LakesideVibes #CanadianGeese #SunsetChaser #SmallTownCanada #TravelOntario 🚆🍁
