🇨🇦 Calgary One-Day Blitz Tour | 7 Stops & 20,000 Steps 🚶♀️💨
As promised — here’s Day 0 of my Banff & Jasper travel guide! Since we flew from Toronto to Calgary and stayed overnight before officially starting Day 1 the next morning — and with the 2-hour time difference — we landed in Calgary at just 10:40 AM. That made for a very long day… perfect for an impromptu city walk blitz! 😎 We actually went to 8 places, but I’m skipping The Core shopping mall — not much to see there except a big Holt Renfrew. Still, with only 5% tax in Alberta, it might be worth it for luxury shopping. 💸 How can you come to Alberta and not eat beef? We found a Chaoshanc-style hot pot spot. Under $100 for two, and we were stuffed! 🍲 Pretty good variety of beef cuts. CF Chinook Centre — way better than The Core! Lots of stores for young people, including Lululemon and other brands. Definitely worth a visit. 🛍️ A Sanrio lifestyle store near Chinook. Super cute stuff, but a bit pricey — so we looked but didn’t buy. 🎀 Tried a highly-rated Korean restaurant (new location near the mall). By Toronto standards it was just okay… but maybe it really is Calgary’s “best” 😅 (Toronto’s Korean food scene is hard to beat!) A bit of a letdown — an Italian gelato shop 🍦. So many flavours, but you can only taste TWO after paying? Usually, you sample before buying! Their pistachio cheesecake flavour tasted like almond, not pistachio, and they used non-dairy cream. Overpriced and not great. : We refused to give up and found another ice cream place — and struck gold! 🍨 This one offers weird but creative flavours, unlimited samples (as it should be!), and always has a line. One scoop was huge — like a fist — and under $7! Highly recommend. A Korean café next to the ice cream shop. We didn’t order since it was late, but the vibe was cozy ☕. They sell coffee beans, waffles, croissants, brownies, and more. #Calgary #CalgaryFood #CalgaryCafe #ExploreCalgary #CalgaryDayTrip #CalgaryLife #YYCFood #Alberta 📍✨
