🇨🇦 MTL to 🇺🇸Burlington/Stowe

🇨🇦 MTL to 🇺🇸Burlington/Stowe ⏰ This time, I targeted two Vermont towns close to Montreal: Burlington and Stowe, a popular spot for skiing and fall foliage. Packing two towns into one day was intense, but totally worth it! 🚗💨 🌅 Early Morning Departure: Smooth Border Crossing & "Scary" Gas Story Left Montreal at 6 AM sharp, reaching the border around 7 AM. Followed netizen recommendation for a small border (address: 6 QC-225, Noyan, QC) — it worked! Since we arrived early, there was only one car ahead, so we zoomed through customs (proof ) — super smooth! 😎 ⚠️ Friendly warning: Heard U.S. gas prices were amazing, so I left with only 3 gallons, planning to fill up there. But by the border, I was down to 1 gallon! 🥹 Drove forever before finding a gas station — almost stranded. Don’t copy me; keep your tank full! 🌊 First Stop: Burlington waterfront park Headed straight to the lakeside park. The view was decent, but the American flag waving in the wind added some charm. It can’t compare to Montreal’s Old Port, though — North American natural scenery feels a bit "copy-pasted" sometimes. Too busy to take a boat, so snapped a few pics and moved on! 🚢 🛍️ Second Stop: Church Street Marketplace An 8-minute walk from the waterfront, this feels like Burlington’s downtown. Tried to find a unique plate as a souvenir but searched in vain — a little disappointing. Passed Ben & Jerry’s on the street, rushed in right at 11 AM when it opened! 🍦 As someone "pre-diabetic," it was way too sweet… but the kids with us loved it — truly childhood joy! 😋 🍁 Third Stop: Stowe Foliage & Town Tour After lunch, drove 50 minutes to Stowe. Passed the famous VT-100 foliage route, but most leaves were still green or yellow — very few red maples. A small letdown! 😮‍💨 Stowe was packed (lots of Indian tourists), all here for the leaves. But foliage was far from peak — probably mid-October. Checked out the viral white church — confused why it’s hyped as a "must-see" on Xiaohongshu. It’s just a simple little church; maybe I’m bad at photography? 📸 Wandered Stowe recreation path, still mostly green/yellow leaves — failed my foliage mission. Tried Smugglers' Notch State Park Campground, but signs said "campers only" — didn’t ask, just turned back. 🚐 A long, tiring day, but a new experience! Might revisit Stowe when the leaves are fully red! 🍁 #Montreal#MontrealLife#MontrealWeekend#Vermont#vermontFall
