🇨🇦 Road Trip │ Gaspé really took me by surprise
Notes from ten girls road-tripping from Toronto to PEI in three cars! Toronto→Quebec City (2 days)→Gaspé (2 days)→PEI 📖 This entry is about GASPÉ🎉🎉 Day 1 The hostel uses a combination lock for entry. It has bunk beds, a huge fully equipped kitchen, and clean restrooms. 🏡🏡 Arriving late at night was a bit creepy because there’s a cemetery next door, but that just means it’s a lucky spot, right? 😂 The room was a bit damp—understandable, being so close to the sea—but it got much better after opening the windows to air it out. We made do for the night. ☘️☘️ We left the hostel at 8 AM to go whale watching and saw whales spouting water. It was just too early, though—I was so sleepy!👍👍 📍 Day 1 Gaspé hostel address: Auberge la Petite Ecole de Forillon👀👀 📍 Whale watching address: Forillon Baleines, 2448 Bd de Grande-Grève A, Gaspé, Quebec G4X 6L7👣 🍢🍢We got back around lunchtime and had an orange-flavored ice cream—such a retro taste, like the popsicles from childhood. I forgot to take a photo of the shop, but we also got something called a "seafood platter" or "lobster platter" to tide us over. It was super fresh! No wonder they say "living by the bay, eating from the bay."🌪️🌪️ 📍 Address: 1323 Bd de Cap des Rosiers, Gaspé, QC G4X 6G7, Canada 📍 Next, we went hiking🌴 I tried hiking in a pair of flip-flops—big mistake.🌞🌞 If you love trails, check out Parc National Forillon. This place and our homestay are separated by the St. Lawrence Bay.😍 ⭐ The most unforgettable part was the scenery where water and sky merge into one. 🌤️🌤️ No matter which angle you look from, you’re surrounded by the endless expanse of the St. Lawrence Bay.🍉 We arrived at our second homestay at 8:45 PM, worried it would be dark, but the sky was still pinkish. It stayed in blue hour until around 9 PM. The homestay was also near the sea—the romantic afterglow, the sea breeze on our faces… it smelled like the oysters and seafood medleys from home!🌴🌴 A big shoutout to our second homestay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Auberge La Maison Rouge – Percé🌞🌞 📍 Address: 125 QC-132, Percé, QC G0C 2L0 The hosts, Michel and Chantel, were incredibly nice and fun!🎉🎉🎉 #Canada
