🇨🇦 Sudbury | A Great Hiking Trail for a Family Outing with Kids

🇨🇦 Sudbury | A Great Hiking Trail for a Family Outing with Kids #WhereToGoOnWeekends 📍 Killarney Provincial Park It’s about a 1-hour drive from Sudbury to the park (you need to buy a parking pass for 💲18 at the visitor center; just place the receipt on the dashboard of your car. Even though we didn’t see anyone checking tickets, it’s all based on honesty here). Camping is also available here ⛺️, but it requires reservations and payment. There will be a separate small space for you to set up a tent and park, and simple barbecues are provided too. The park has a small beach 🏖️ where you can go swimming 🏊, and kids can play in the sand. There are also small tables and chairs by the lake for resting. To the left of the beach 🏖️👈, there’s a small wooden bridge. Crossing it leads to a very long trail. A sign at the entrance 🔔 indicates that the trail is quite long—completing the round trip takes 7-10 days—so everyone should turn back in time based on their physical strength. We walked for about an hour before heading back. By the time we finished, it was almost noon. We sat down by the lake to eat something and replenish our energy. We even brought self-heating hot pot—just add cold water to heat the ingredients, which was super convenient. After walking and getting hungry, it tasted especially delicious 😋. Enjoying the lake view, eating hot pot, and feeling the breeze—what a cozy moment 😌 (remember to take your trash with you after eating). After eating and drinking, we could play with the kids in the water and sand. Once we were tired, it was time to head home. Since we didn’t stay very long, there are probably other places to explore. There’s another trail where parking spaces are limited and require reservations. That trail is supposed to be more fun and great for photos, with rocks 🪨 and all. But we were too tired to go there. The two parking lots are about a 5-minute drive apart. When the maple leaves 🍁 turn fully red next month, this park should be even more beautiful, and the scenery along the way will be amazing 😌. See you next time 👋! #Sudbury#SudburyLife#LaurentianUniversity#Sudbury#OntarioProvincialParks#WeekendWithKids#SudburyCanada#Hiking
