🇩🇪 Day Trip from Berlin to Leipzig 🚌🚆
Transportation Departure: FlixBus, Berlin Central Bus Station 07:20 🥱 → Leipzig Central Station 09:30, €18.99 ❗Note: It’s Berlin Central BUS Station, not Berlin Central Station. Return: FlixTrain, Leipzig Central Station 16:47 → Berlin Südkreuz 17:58, €5.99 (Just boarded and noticed a noticeable restroom odor in the carriage 😅) Tickets can be purchased on the FlixBus App. In Leipzig: Most attractions are within walking distance from the station. Took the S-Bahn only to try pho. ❗Validated tickets are only effective for 1 hour (compared to 2 hours in Berlin). Food Breakfast at Endless: A brunch spot with a nice ambiance and great food 🍳. Their bread is fragrant, chewy, and not too hard. The Shakshuka was delicious! Lunch at Hanoi Restaurant: A Vietnamese restaurant next to Dong Xuan Market. Tried the Pho and Bún Bò Huế (includes pork knuckle and blood cake—avoid if not your preference) 🍜, along with a taro ball dessert in coconut milk (extra ice recommended). Both were great! ❗Unexpected find: Bought (water spinach) and (mustard greens) for just €1.90 per bundle at the nearby Ja Asia grocery. Sights & Activities Explored only the central attractions within walking distance. The entire area can be comfortably covered in a day. The city has a strong musical vibe 🎵, with nearly 10 different street performances spotted while walking around. The Bach Museum offers free audio guides (available in Chinese), which made the visit quite interesting 🎶. Visited two beautiful churches: St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche Leipzig): Stunning interior. St. Thomas Church (Thomaskirche): Someone was playing the organ during my visit. Though I’ve seen organs in many churches, this was the first time I heard one live 🎹. Surprisingly, there are plenty of McDonald’s around (meaning it’s easy to find affordable coffee ☕). #Leipzig #Berlin #TravelGermany #DayTrip #FoodAndTravel ✨🌍🇩🇪
