🇩🇪 Frankfurt | German Crispy Pork Knuckle at Römer Pils Brunnen
📍 Töngesgasse 19, 60311 Frankfurt / Main, Germany Just a 5-minute walk from Frankfurt Cathedral. I only had one night in Frankfurt and spent half a day exploring the city before heading to the Netherlands. Before leaving, I tried their famous roasted pork knuckle — and it did not disappoint! Delicious and fairly priced. The portion is huge — definitely don’t order one per person. We shared one pork knuckle, a seasonal salad, and some roasted potatoes, and even that was too much for two. The atmosphere was relaxed and authentic (see photos 📸 6-9). They offer a wide selection of beers, but since I’m cutting back on alcohol, I skipped it this time. 🍖 German Crispy Pork Knuckle The skin was incredibly crispy, and the meat inside was tender and juicy. They glaze it with honey before roasting, giving the skin a subtle sweet note. The meat was so soft it fell apart with just a touch of the knife. Served with tangy sauerkraut — and even though I usually avoid pickled veggies, this one was really good! 🥗 Seasonal Salad Fresh, crunchy, and dressed with a light vinaigrette. Perfect balance to the rich pork. Loaded with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, and bell peppers — a great way to get your greens while traveling. 🥔 Roasted Potatoes Buttery and fragrant — I’m pretty sure they roast them with butter. Not too crispy, not too soft… just right. A must-order side! The total for all that plus a Coke came to around €45. Great value for a deeply satisfying meal. #GermanFood #FrankfurtEats #PorkKnuckle #FrankfurtFoodGuide #TravelGermany #FoodShare
