Schweinshaxe or pork Knuckle was delicious with very tender meat.
Bauernbratwurste (2 sausages/bratwurst) with fried potatoes and sauerkraut was tasty.
Schnitzel “Madagaskar” was mildly spicy and fried to a tasty crunchy consistency. There was a lot of Madagascar sauce which overwhelmed the schnitzel ( in my humble opinion). I would order schnitzel with sauce on the side if I were to order the same entree again.
The veal meatballs were tender and ok.
Filetsteak mit Kräuterbutter – 250g Beef fillet has a nice garlic and herb infused taste with a delicious stir-fried mushrooms toppings. The steak was ordered medium but came out well-done, a little on the dry side.
We ended up going to Römer Pils Brunnen twice because it was an 8 minute walk from the Westin Grand Frankfurt, where we stayed for 1 week, and the food was authentic. Please call for reservations especially for the weekend dinner times. All the restaurant servers speak English. We walked into the restaurant on a Monday around 7pm with half of the restaurant being empty. We also went on the Saturday of Easter Sunday Weekend around 5:45pm and it was packed. We waited about 15 minutes for a table for 3 of us. However, people who arrived after 6pm were turned away due to many tables already being reserved. As it was Easter Sunday the next day, we were given Easter eggs at the end of the meal, which were tasty, almost like the eggs that come with a...
Read moreWas in Frankfurt for a day with my gf and wanted to try German cuisine. Saw pretty good reviews of this place and we decided to dine in. The place wasn’t crowded as we are pretty early for dinner. Staff was friendly and professional, speaks very fluent English, and the menu comes in English as well. Which is great for travellers. The interior was cozy with a traditional English bar vibe. And since it was close to Easter, they gave us 2 Easter eggs!
We ordered the roasted pork knuckle €17.9 and schnitzel(madagaskar sauce) €15.9 The pork knuckle was crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. Cooked perfectly, but only that it was too salty for both out liking. The sauerkraut balances out the saltiness a little but It was still too overwhelming.
The schnitzel was also cooked very nicely. Some other restaurants makes it too dry but this one is very nice. Only thing was the sauce was too salty as well.
We ordered one dark strong beer €5.9 to share which is only available during the winter season and it’s served in a big porcelain mug. It goes very well with the food, with a hint of caramel and dark choc. This place does not serve tap water, so we ordered a small bottle of still water €2.9.
Overall experience was great, would have given a 5 star if the food...

The Cordon bleu was nothing short of perfection — a beautiful golden crumb, irresistibly crispy, and generously filled with ham and cheese. This seemingly simple dish proved to be a mouthwatering delight. The fries were a salty and crispy delight, meeting our expectations completely.
Now, let's talk about the dessert – it left us utterly speechless. It's one of those experiences where words don't quite do justice; you simply have to try it to understand the heavenly flavor it offers.
The service was fantastic, adding to the overall enjoyment of our dinner. We took advantage of the friendly staff, seeking recommendations for the best schnitzel and inquiring about beer options. The evening turned out to be not just a meal but a delightful and fun experience, which lingered in our conversations long after the meal had ended.
If you find yourself in Frankfurt and craving a memorable schnitzel, Römer Pils Brunnen should undoubtedly be on...
