đŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș Frankfurt | German Food That Made My Friends Scream with Delight!

Okay, I’ve been in Germany long enough to sometimes take German food for granted 😅—let’s be real, I wouldn’t normally choose it myself when eating out (sorry not sorry
except for work lunches!). But when friends visit from China, you just have to take them for proper German cuisine. Frankfurt has several highly-rated, historic German restaurants, and this one truly stood out—way tastier than others I’ve tried! 😋 Perfect for impressing visitors from home. (A bit pricey, though!) 📍 Wirtshaus am HĂŒhnermarkt, Markt 16-18, 60311 Frankfurt am Main 🍖 The main courses aren’t numerous, but they cover all the classics—especially Frankfurt’s famous green sauce. We ordered the Frankfurt-style Schnitzel and pork knuckle so my friend could try a bit of everything. 🐄 The Schnitzel is made with veal and it was
unbelievably good! So fluffy and tender 👏. The coating was super crispy yet not hard at all—perfectly golden and crunchy (honestly the best Schnitzel I’ve had!). The meat was juicy and mild—really high quality. It came with green sauce, which isn’t really my thing, but hey, when in Frankfurt
🌿 🍖 The pork knuckle was also excellent—not overly greasy, perfectly roasted, and surprisingly tender! The skin was partly crispy, partly soft, and the meat fell off the bone. Even the cartilage was edible—I went full foodie mode on that bone 😂. Of course, like most German dishes, it’s meat and potatoes heavy
so maybe order a salad on the side to balance it out. 💰 It’s on the pricier side: the Schnitzel was around €33, pork knuckle €26. With drinks and tip, we paid €73 for two. Not cheap, but worth every euro for the experience! ❀ Highly recommend if you’re showing friends around Frankfurt or just want to treat yourself to elevated German classics! #GermanFood #FrankfurtEats #FoodReview #GermanRestaurant #FrankfurtFoodGuide #TravelGermany #FoodieHeaven #MustTry
