🇫🇷 Nice | Wait 2 Hours, But Totally Worth It at This Hidden Gem
La cucina This place is super popular—foodies from all over the world are drawn here! 🌍 The restaurant is quite small, only able to seat 8 tables (about 16 people) at a time. Reservations are not accepted, so you'll have to wait. Dinner usually starts at 6:30 PM, so it's best to arrive before 6:00 PM. (Yesterday, it seemed like the place was booked for a private event, so there were no spots in the first round.) Today, it was raining in Nice, and I got lucky by arriving around 5:40 PM and got a spot in the first round. If you miss the first round, the second round is likely to start around 7:30 PM. You can choose the best time based on the situation. ⏳ I ordered three main courses in one go: Foie Gras Cream Pasta ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was the first dish to arrive. After finishing all three courses, I understood why the chef served this one first. The complex flavors are very rich, but the foie gras doesn't make it greasy at all. Instead, it's filled with creamy, fatty foie gras aroma. There seem to be apple granules inside, which add a rich texture and keep your taste buds refreshed with the cream and foie gras. 🍽️ Roasted Lamb Leg ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Served with black truffle mashed potatoes and garnished with raspberry jam. It's not greasy at all. The lamb leg has a honey-glazed crispy skin, which reminds me a bit of the sweet-skin duck from Leshan. 🍖 Orange Sauce with Roast Duck ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Even the salad was delicious! The mashed potatoes have the same flavor profile. By the time the last main course arrived, I was already 80% full, but the duck skin didn't feel fatty at all. Instead, it had a buttery aroma. Paired with the special orange-flavored sauce, it's very refreshing and cuts through the richness. 🍆 I was too full to order dessert 🍮 in the end. Without drinks, the total for two people with three main courses was around 80 euros—extremely good value for money! 💰 #Nice #SouthofFranceVacation #NiceFoodRecommendations #NiceFood #FranceTravel #FrenchTravel
