๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท South of France Nice | Hidden Italian Cuisine in the Old Town

A hidden gem of Italian cuisine in the Old Town, just a stone's throw away from Nice Beach, located near the flower market. After dining, you can take a short stroll to the beach ๐Ÿ–๏ธ in just a few minutes! Restaurant Name: La Favola We found this highly-rated place on Google Maps and walked in without a reservation. We got lucky and didn't have to wait, but if you go later, be prepared to queue. It seems to be a popular spot, so if you're planning to have lunch, arrive early and explore the nearby marketโ€”it's quite charming. We ordered the signature seafood pasta ๐Ÿœ, fried seafood, pizza, and steak. Each portion was huge, designed to leave you feeling satisfied. They also had a local Nice specialty, a spiced wine whose name I've forgotten, but it was quite unpalatable. ๐Ÿฆž **Seafood Pasta**: Loaded with shrimp ๐Ÿฆด, mussels, clams, octopus ๐Ÿฆ‘, and squid, the portion was enormous. We had to share it. ๐Ÿ• **Pizza**: The pizza was standard, freshly baked and filling, nothing exceptional but did the job. ๐Ÿฒ **Fried Seafood Platter**: A mix of various seafood, seasoned with lemon juice, it was crispy and not greasy at all. The portion was massive, almost as if seafood is free by the sea ๐ŸŒŠ. However, it did get a bit dry towards the end. ๐Ÿฅฉ **Steak**: The steak was quite average, both in terms of meat quality and seasoning. It was more about getting your protein fix. ๐Ÿท **Spiced Wine**: Recommended by a friend's French teacher, we can't remember the name. We tried it and shared a sip, but everyone agreed it was not enjoyable. When ordering, you can show pictures to the waiter, as some of the staff seemed to speak mostly French, and English communication was a bit challenging. We ended up using pictures to communicate. PS: Since we walked there and were quite hot, the waiter brought us a bottle of iced water immediately. We finished it quickly and asked for another bottle of Gap Water, but they charged us either five or a few euros for it. In other restaurants, Gap Water is usually free. ๐Ÿ’ฐ **Average Cost**: 25-35 euros per person, no service charge. #NiceFood #Nice #NiceRestaurants #NiceRestaurantVisit #SouthofFrance #FrenchCuisine #NiceFrenchCuisine #NiceFoodRecommendations #HiddenRestaurantGems #FrenchDining
