🇬🇧 A Day Trip to Newcastle
The weather has been nice these past few days, so of course, a trip to the seaside is a must~ It’s a one-and-a-half-hour train ride from Leeds to Newcastle. Lunch Master Wang Noodle 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The belt noodles are amazing! The noodles are hand-pulled, similar to stewed noodles. It’s the first time I’ve had such authentic noodles since coming to the UK. The sauce is a combination of tomato and egg, and minced meat—super flavorful and clingy to the noodles. The chili sauce, which I think is homemade, is really fragrant~ The extra pig intestines I ordered were generous in portion and not smelly at all. The jasmine tea and oolong tea, though sugar-free, have a slight sweet aftertaste. Around £15 per person. Dinner Thai House Cafe Newcastle 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We ordered Pork Leg Stew on Rice, Pad Kra Pao, a small Tom Yum Goong, Thai milk tea, and lemon green tea. The Pork Leg Stew on Rice lives up to its reputation—tender with a perfect mix of fat and lean meat, and rich sauce. I haven’t tried it elsewhere, but it’s better than the one in Leeds. The Thai milk tea doesn’t taste like it’s made from powder, and there’s no half a cup of ice left after drinking. The portion is also large—excellent! Around £20 per person. Tynemouth Long Sands Beach 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We chose a beach relatively close to the city center. Being lazy, we took a taxi, which took 20 minutes. Even though the temperature was in the mid-twenties, the water was cool but pleasantly so. And it’s seriously so photogenic ! After leaving the beach, we walked down along the coast. The benches along the way had flowers planted on both sides— is just too romantic. Further down, there’s a smaller beach with sun loungers, where you can take photos of a little castle , but it was closed, so we didn’t go in. Later, we noticed on the map that there are quite a few entertainment spots around the beach: golf, cricket, an aquarium, and a market. It must be popular with locals. You can choose based on your time and interests. #Newcastle #Tynemouth #StudyInUK #UKTravel #TravelDiary #BeautifulSceneryOnTheTrip #InternationalStudentLife #Leeds
