🇬🇧 First Impressions of Belfast

The days are long in Belfast in August – the sun sets around 9 PM 🌆. I landed at Belfast City Airport around 5:00 PM on August 12th. Getting to the city center was super quick 🚖. After settling in, it was still bright at 7:00 PM, so I decided to take a casual stroll and grab a bite 🍽️. 🚶‍♀️ City Walk Route: City Hall → Victoria Square → St. Anne's Cathedral → Big Fish 🐟 → Albert Memorial Clock ⏰ The main attractions in Belfast are quite compact – you can cover them all in about 1-2 hours! 🏛️ City Hall: The ground floor is open to the public (Weekdays: 9:30 AM–5:00 PM / Holidays: 10:00 AM–5:00 PM). There are paid exhibition halls on both sides (£4). I went at night initially, so I didn’t go in – but I visited later during the day. 🛍️ Victoria Square: A large shopping mall 🛒 – the highlight is the central high-level observation deck with panoramic views of the city. You can reach it via elevator to the 3rd floor, but check opening hours! I went back another day for photos 📸. A bit nerve-wracking if you’re afraid of heights – think twice before going up! ⛪ Belfast Cathedral: I walked from Victoria Square via Hill St. It was getting dark, and the area felt quite empty 🏙️. Only a few bar-like places were open, and people dressed unusually were laughing loudly – it felt a bit eerie 😬. If you’re alone, maybe stick to main roads – this street had a weird vibe. 🐟 Big Fish + Memorial Clock: These two spots are very close together – you can photograph the clock from the Big Fish. Because of the earlier experience, I just quickly snapped some photos and headed back 🚶‍♀️. #Belfast #TravelUK #SoloTravel #CityWalk #FirstImpressions
