🇬🇧 Hidden Gem in the UK: Leicester Travel & Food Spots

Leicester is a city near Nottingham, and thanks to the University of Leicester, there’s a big international student community here. I took a spontaneous weekend trip to visit my bestie – and it was so worth it! 🛍️ Highcross Shopping Centre Who knew a smaller city could have such an awesome mall? Highcross has it all: restaurants, fashion stores, cinema, Boots, ZARA, H&M, M&S, Urban Outfitters, Jo Malone… and more! One-stop fun 🛒💄. My friend and I snagged the English Pear & Freesia perfume WITH student discount – yesss! ✨ TK Maxx The go-to place for designer bargains – every city has one, and Leicester’s is inside Haymarket Shopping Centre. There’s a Costa nearby too ☕. Perfect spot for a girly shopping day! 🍗 Xinjiang Big Plate Chicken While my friend was visiting a local educational agency (more below), we found this incredible restaurant right across the street. Their Big Plate Chicken with noodles was SO tasty and generous – easily enough for two. The lamb skewers were grilled to perfection, just like back home. Must-try: the baked buns! 🥟🔥 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Note: Portions are huge – order wisely! 📘 Leicester Uoffer My friend is considering a second Master’s degree, so we dropped by their Leicester branch. Was surprised you can even find Chinese agencies on Google Maps here 😂. The office was spacious and well-organized, with prospectuses from unis all over the UK. The consultant was lovely – they’ll follow up online later. 🌸 There are so many cozy underrated cities like Leicester in the UK 🏡❤️.
